Best Western Plus Montezuma Inn & Suites

Spent one day on Las Vegas NM on a road trip from Mesa AZ to WI. Was looking for best hotel here- thought BW was the best- trust me- this place is on the edge of falling onto the “sketchy” category. From not having a lamp on the nightstand (young kid working front desk had to text his manager and after two follow ups got us a lamp which we had to put a shade on and install), to the grimy elevator cab (looked like someone ate a bucket of chicken then wiped their hands on every part of the elevator), to the front sliding doors only closing 3/4, to the room doors that would SLAM every time someone left their room (vs a pump), to the room that just seemed a bit “off” in terms of maintenance, this BW needs a refresh and new management. Sadly we didn’t see many other nicer hotels in town, unless u wanted the vintage PLAZA or its vintage sister hotel by the RR station. I would suggest the newer holiday inn and elevator- don’t waste your $ here.

We stayed here 2 years ago during COVID and it was amazing. The pool was closed due to restrictions, but we were notified during booking and the stay was overall great. Breakfast was delicious, the works.However, this time at check-in there was a sign posted of a water shortage, stating the pool would be closed. We have family that lives in Vegas and they let us know they were not on restrictions. I also was perplexed that i hadn't been notified during booking that the pool was closed. We stayed at this hotel specifically for the pool, otherwise we would have Air BNBd it. Also, the breakfast is just not the same, or honestly even close to before 😕 Oh and when we got into our room at check-in at 4 o'clock the bathroom had been used for a #2 recently. The bathroom still smelled and had a booboo streak. 😳 Guess we Air BNB from now on.😔

The pool was closed, so we were disappointed that it wasn't available for our kids.

Checked in for a quick visit with family. Check in was fast, our room was clean and free of any smells. The hotel was quiet and our beds was comfortable after a long drive.
