Baymont by Wyndham Budd Lake

The room was decent enough, not the best but good enough for us. The price was also reasonable. Unsure about the ownership but the hotel seemed like one those franchised family-owned hotels, which I have nothing against, but staff in need of customer service training. Communication was unpleasant at times especially with one of the staff or owner who was rude and very aggressive. Requests by telephone or in person were met with irritated responses.

It was an average hotel- but the beds were above average in comfort, the pillows were comfortable and the blankets were thick and warm. My favorite thing (as a family of 5) is they have a pullout couch in the sitting area. This adds a great measure of flexibility for people with larger families.

I stayed here on three different occasions within a ten day period with my grandchildren. My first two visits were great, Ashe at front desk was kind and accommodating. On my third visit I was made to feel less than welcome by the male who was working the front desk. I went back the third time because it was accommodating for myself and grandchildren…however, after the third time I likely won’t return. There was an obvious misunderstanding.

My grandchild wanted to take a bath and couldn’t because of NO tub stopper. Also, I requested not to be on the first floor the hotel said there was no request. I found it where I did the booking. Every thing else was great.

I like the updated room and the furniture was in very good condition. The breakfast was perfect for adults and kids. Bonus is having the soap and other shower amenities available in the room and not just in sample sizes. The only didappointment was the lack of bedding for the pull out sofa sleeper....had to go to the front desk to get them and make the bed and it was after 11pm when we checked in. We just wanted to go to sleep. The other thing was that our reservation was incorrect. We were suppoed to have 2 beds. I stead we got 1 bed and the sofa sleeper. With my children sleeping in funny poaitions, its best to have separate beds for all.

Overall the hotel was nice and clean, only issue I had was with the morning staff, had to be switched out of room twice with my wife and kid becuase of broken bathrooms not working, would of been 3 times but I decideded to just deal with it becuase wife and son didn’t want to switch again because was gettin late. My problem came with morning staff and check out, I asked for a late check out and gave me 15 minutes with an attitude.. not even considerate of the fact of our inconvenience, lost multiple hours and never even got a working toilet, All I asked was for late check out and got 15 minutes with an attitude.. nice place, bad business attitudes with morning staff

We stayed there for a wedding and other family events, so mostly just slept there. Staff was attentive, breakfast was fine. It was clear the hotel was being renovated, but that didn't inconvenience us. The only problem was that there are Two Wyndhams within a block of each other. I tried to confirm my reservation with both Wyndham and the other hotel, and was assuming my reservation was lost, until the clerk suggested I call the other, correct, hotel. Hotels.com was no help and added to my frustration.

sofa sank disproportionately from one side to the other. a basketball team booked the hotel that same night and bounced stuff off the wall well into late night. Not much the hotel staff could do. it was jarring to hear thudding while trying to go to bed especially with small kids. Front desk girl was fine at her work but other folks who appeared to be either owner or management seemed aloof or perhaps operated the hotel like a family business. There's nothing wrong with that sort of organization but there is an amateur feeling to the operation. Stacking wall art in the hallways was for instance not particularly impressive in an otherwise blemish free hallway. Over all okay stay. I feel like if they were more effective at convincing their other guests to be quiet I'd give it better ratings.

We stayed here one night because we had an event locally. We were with our two children. As soon as we entered, the lobby and halls smelled of smoke. The first room we were offered smelled of smoke-we were moved to another room which did not have an odor. The rooms are extremely dated, furniture and bedding was stained and dingy. If we had an alternative in the area, we would have left.

Needed a place close to our family and inexpensive. Easy to drive around the area. Close to a lot of good shopping. Just have to watch out for the crazy NJ drivers.
