Cannery Hotel & Casino

This place has become my go to spot when traveling to Vegas. Close to family and far away from the congestion of the strip. If you just need an affordable place to sleep comfortably, souronded by many dinning options, and don't mind the drive to the strip, this is the spot.

I gave it this rating because to start off my room was located in the first floor and it smelled a lot like smoke and penetrated the rooms. I stayed there with my children and I didn’t feel it was safe for my children including my infant baby to breathe that smell. Our nose and throat were really bothering us. I asked to be moved to another room. I was moved to the second floor one in which the smoke smell wasn’t as bad but it still had a light smell like it. When I opened the second room I was moved to, it also had a bad odor like humidity, dirty, old. I asked to be moved once again and by now the receptionist gave like a sarcastic smile when I told her that room also had a bad different type of odor. She moved us to another room and the smell was better but not what I expected. I also feel like the rooms need a little upgrade specially the bath tubs in which they still use curtains. Upon our check out, my total came out to be higher than the Total I was given on Expedia for the stay. That took me by surprise. I asked about these charges but they just had an answer for everything and said Expedia did not charge the hotel fees and taxes in which the Expedia transaction said it included these fees. I will have to follow up and go over these charges one more time.

We are locals and this was our first time staying here. We decided to stay here for 1 quiet night away from the kids. The casino smelled way too much of cigarette smoke, which we overlooked considering it is a casino. We were on the 1st floor and the hallways smelled like a sewage. Not a good impression for our first stay. Luckily, our room did not smell of sewage or smoke. It was a decent room. Nice size and clean. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the sheets were thin. The room was very cold when we entered and took a while to heat up. There are just a few restaurant options available within the hotel, but there are better options a short drive away. The best attraction here would be the connected movie theatre. We actually decided to leave early as we just couldn’t get comfortable. The room isn’t well insulated and we kept getting awoken by the slamming of doors and loud people in the hallway. Despite our gripes, it’s an ok hotel to stay. However, we probably won’t.

We did not even stay at the hotel. We booked with kids and not knowing the pool was closed. We tried to cancel the booking but the hotel refused. Poor customer service of the hotel and would not stay there because of that. Hotels.com really needs to put service disruptions in a clearer way. This is the second time that we have booked at the pool was closed and we did not know because the warning was in super fine print at the very bottom of the page I feel they need to put the icon in yellow if there is some service disruption going on at that time or some indicator of this in a clear way.

We were visiting family in the area and this hotel casino was super convenient. We were on the first floor and the rooms were surprisingly quiet and we couldn’t smell the smoke from the casino.

We really liked this hotel it was our first time staying there. The room was really nice a clean . I was amazed that they have a theater . We would definitely stay here again . The only thing was that there was people on the hallway talking very loud and it was very early in the morning nothing that the hotel can control . I would recommend to friends and family.

My one concern is having a pool as we write children. I went into the hotel ask them specifically if their pool was open. I was told yes. I booked our stay. Within 30 seconds, I was told that the pool was closed by another staffer. I tried to cancel my reservation that was treated poorly since I booked it online through hotels.com. Pool turned out to be closed and it was only 3 feet deep.
