Tru by Hilton Springfield Downtown

Clean modern and very family friendly. Great amenities, woudl recommend!

Everything was excellent - staff, cleanliness, condition, etc - even the breakfast. The only thing needing improvement was the guests. After driving 13 hours, our family arrived after 11 PM and there was a big group in the lounge playing games, pool, etc. I already anticipated this was going to be a problem because at 2 AM I (and small children) were awakened by loud banging literally across the hall from our room and those same guests playing in the lounge earlier were yelling at someone to open the door. This went on for I kid you not, 30 minutes. Banging on the door and yelling to have it open. The front staff tried to get them out of there. Later that morning when we were checking out at 9 AM, I made a comment about how crazy it was. And the front staff just said, “Oh yeah that’s like a daily occurrence.” Yikes. Good thing we only stayed one night.

Staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was very convenient for the family wedding we attended.

This hotel is excellent for families and those traveling for work. It has a wonderful lounge area with pool table, board games and magazines. The breakfast is good and staff are nice. The workout center and pool are also great!

We have stayed here a number of times bc we have family living downtown and this is close to their loft. The place is ok but we really would like some coffee and a microwave in the room. The room is pretty small too. This is the third time we had to ask for basic supplies because ours were not replenished before our check in. (toilet paper and hand soap). Not sure why this isn't automatically done by the maid staff?? The breakfast is good and the staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is great and free. Clean and shower is nice. Great downtown location. Overall its an OK place and cheaper than the other place right downtown.

The hotel is close to campus and we can walk to see our children. It's also close enough to walk downtown to grab a bite to eat. Good breakfast and we liked there was a hard boiled egg option and fresh fruit! Staff was friendly and room was clean and comfortable. The only disappointment - the pool was extremely cold, so we ended up not swimming. That is a super minor issue and would not deter us from staying again.

The outside of the hotel has colorful accents to make it stand out from blocks away. But it is located not in the best part of town. Amenities were ok, but no room service like it says online. Oh, and there is a $25 per day, per room incidental fee that is not told to you up front when booking online. Breakfast offered by hotel is mediocre. I booked because it was a newer hotel, by Hilton. Room was new & clean. However, bed was too soft & had trouble sleeping. A/c in rooms was cold, shower was hot & had 3 settings but no wand attachment. And my children couldn't hook up their Xbox-X to the TV as there are no ports available on the tvs. We were overall disappointed by our stay here at Tru. We won't be staying here again when we come to Springfield to visit friends and family.
