We slept like babies in this beautifully restored hotel. History and beauty with a touch of comic relief. Over the top service and staff. We will definitely be back.

Hotel is an interesting concept but not kept up well. Our door lock was discharged so we could not leave the room because nobody would be able to re-open it and nobody could fix it until the day we were checking out. Bar was closed, there was no soap/body wash in the shower (empty bottle) and it is extremely loud outside all night and morning. Staff is pleasant and my toddler got a welcome gift, but the stay was still very uncomfortable, I could not sleep at all. And breakfast is terrible.

Such a quirky, unique little place! The most interesting hotel I have ever stayed at. Very clean and well taken care of, nice unique rooms and a yummy breakfast included. The only negative is that there is no parking, you have to use the paid lot next door. I would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to the children’s museum.

We stayed here for four nights. The room was clean, comfortable and extremely cozy since we were on the ground level. The hotel lobby was a sight to see! Between the pictures of the nun’s hanging on the wall, the beautiful work around the fireplace and gorgeous chandlers, we really couldn’t get enough pictures to share back home with family. The breakfast had plenty of options to choose from. My number one reason I would not stay here again is because of the front desk staff. Each encounter I had with the front desk (which was 3 times) left me with a bad feeling in my heart. It was oddly weird. The staff lacked friendliness, helpfulness and need to help problem solve the issue at hand. When you walk to the front desk, you might as well have been a ghost, the staff did not acknowledge me. I had to greet them with a smile and good morning. When we checked out, the lady sat at the desk and we informed her that we were checking out. She responded with “ok you are checked out” I asked her about the charges to the room for the waters. She then asks “what is your room number?” This is an example of how the staff really didn’t want anything to do with us. How do you say “ok your all checked out” and not know what our room number is? Another odd interaction. There was one sweet lady who worked the counter overnight, extremely helpful, a bit quirky with nails on. But the two gentleman and older lady would who work days. Those 3 would be the SOLE purpose we would never stay here again.

I loved the character of the hotel, being it was formerly a convent. There is beautiful religious artwork everywhere, the rooms have gorgeous original woodworking and shelves, and there are even pictures of sisters who were at convent. They had a free continental breakfast with a lot of choices. I wish they would've had more fruit, but that's a nit-pick. The room itself was beautiful, but the older air conditioning unit didn't do a great job of cooling off the room and it would get quite humid. Also, there wasn't a bathtub (just a stand-up shower), so I couldn't give my toddler a bath. The area is a little sketchy. There were quite a few homeless around the building, but for the most part no one bothered us. The children's museum is walking distance, which was really nice for our daughter. Parking is not free, you will have to pay for it in the garage. So, plan your outings accordingly because you'll pay each time you leave the garage.

Booked a room through hotels.com for July 2022 in October of 2021. When we arrived to check in, the person at the front desk said they could see our reservation, but never pulled it through so we didn't have a room as the hotel was fully booked. They didn't offer any additional explanation or offer to help find another hotel. Just said sorry and tried to give us a business card so we would remember them the next time we were in town. Horrible customer service! We were left scrambling to find a hotel room in downtown St. Paul the night of a sold out concert. This was the first time in 2.5 year my husband and I have been able to do something together without the kids and because of this error, we didn't have time to do anything for the evening except run around finding a hotel. Definitely need some training in customer service and how to handle situations like this. Will absolutely never stay there and am so disappointed in how the situation was handled
