Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Minneapolis Shakopee

Came here for a family getaway weekend. The staff and everything about this place was 10/10.

The hotel had a room that would accommodate my whole family instead of having me get 2 rooms.

Drove 5 hours through road construction after working a 12+ hour shift as a first responder just to be told by the kid at the front desk that they had given my room away and were overbooked. Didn't even bother looking up my reservation, then told me he couldn't confirm a refund until *maybe* the next morning. I asked why I wasn't contacted beforehand so I could make other arrangements and was told the contact information they had for me was probably bad. It wasn't, because I had him check. I had noissed calls or emails from the hotel regarding the issue prior to my arrival either. This is all at 11pm at night. So I spent the next hour desperately trying to find another hotel that wasn't full up. Almost gave up and turned around to drive home. Bless Eleanor at Country Inn & Suites Chanhassen; she found me a room, reserved it at the early booking rate, and held it without a credit card until I got there. Long story short, I will NEVER stay at the Fairfield in Shakopee again.
