Holiday Inn Express Auburn Hills South, an IHG Hotel

I really hate writing reviews but i was very disturbed at waking up and looking at the night stand and finding baby ants (lots),on a empty pie container. I cleaned up the area and still noticed ants before i exited room. I even noticed an ant on pillow. You should spray outside. Another thing is there was no bathroom soap in Dove container in bath or shower. We took a bath with the Dove Shampo.

We arrived and checked into our room. I pulled back the blanket and found that the sheets were dirty. This room was also never vacuumed. They moved us to a second room that was supposed to be clean. This room had Cheetos in the sheets. The housekeepers clean the room but apparently do not change the sheets. I then asked to have someone come change the sheets and was told there was no one on staff to do that, but they could move me a third time after saying to me “maybe this isn’t the hotel for you. We can refund you and you can find something else.” Excuse me? I just want clean sheets!! Finally we got a room that had clean sheets. The entire time, we were lugging our luggage and 3 children all over the hotel. The pool is very small and appears much larger in the photos. I wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately.

I booked 2 rooms at the same time. I called the next day to make sure that the 2 rooms would be next to each other. However, at check-in, not only were the rooms not next to each other, they were on different floors! The lady at the counter was super nice and was working hard to fix the problem, however it took some time so we were not able to get into our room right away. She was able to get our rooms on the same floor, but at opposite ends of the hall. I was traveling with my sister and her 2 young children, so having to go back and forth down the hallway was very inconvenient. Especially giving the fact that I called to make sure that we would be next to each other I was was assured we would.

We showed up at 3pm. They told our family we had to wait two more hours to check in. I asked for a discount; couldn't get one because we went thought 3 party !!! Now we just saw they charged us $100 for no reason !!!

Check in process not great. Although staff was very friendly. First room we were assigned, there was maintenance in the room when we went up. Went back down and was assigned a different room, ok no problem. About 3 hours after check in, the front desk called to ask what time we checked in and how long we planned on staying (we had only booked one night). After looking around the room, realized there were no curtains other than the sheer pull down shade. Called the front desk and they said "oh did they not tell you that was available when they gave you that room?" Ummm. No. Only thing they could offer was a king room which didn't work for our family and the parking lot lights made it feel like day time in the room all night long. Also, the pool was FREEZING. Plus side, clean room and property, comfortable bed and friendly staff.

We really enjoyed our stay here. I have never stayed at such a clean hotel. Staff were amazing. The only fall back would be the temp of the pool. It was a bit chilly for my kids to swim.

Check in was a breeze, front desk staff we’re super friendly and professional, eager to help in any which way. Rooms were very clean, beds were super comfortable, excellent choice of TV channels, the food was great for breakfast, coffee was excellent . Also the kids enjoyed the swimming pool which was clean. Overall the entire hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating! The rooms are clean and comfortable! Our kids loved swimming in the pool!
