Hyatt Place Lansing - East

My family and I booked the Hyatt Place for four nights while we were in town for my sister’s graduation. We specifically booked this hotel because it is advertised as being ‘Pet Friendly.’ I have a golden doodle, who is extremely friendly. He barks, yes, because ALL dogs bark. We were first placed into a room on the wrong floor, a floor not meant for pets. This is not our fault or our problem. Our golden doodle barked twice overnight and someone complained. We were initially told that we will have to move rooms because we were given the wrong room. Okay, that’s fine. Then, abruptly, we were told that we would have to leave the hotel entirely because our dog is ‘aggressive.’ How is he aggressive? Did he try to bite anyone or lunge at anyone? No, all he did was bark because ALL DOGS BARK. Do not advertise the hotel as PET FRIENDLY if you cannot handle barking. This was highly unprofessional and unacceptable by Hyatt Place and the management. Luckily, we were able to leave our dog with my sister, who resides in Lansing, for the remainder of our stay but I will never book a stay at any Hyatt Place ever again. I will also be lodging a complaint against the management of this specific hotel.

The Staff were really nice and the hotel is situated in a seemingly new development area. It's too bad the guests were so unruly over our stay. There were kids running up and down the hallway screaming in the middle of the night. Would have called the front desk, but the hotel phone didn't work and unfortunately my phone was dead as well.

Great location and amenities for my whole family.

We travel a lot. This hotel was clean, breakfast had a wide variety of food(buffet style), and was good. It is $10 a night for parking, and there is no onsite guest laundry. We did have to go down to the desk and request toilet paper as the room was out when we checked in. And there was no microwave in the room. It’s a nice hotel. And it’s clean. I wouldn’t personally stay again just because there’s no onsite laundry and that’s what my family needs. But if it was a short trip and didn’t need that facility, we would stay again.

Great for the family. Clean. Good breakfast.

The phone did not work - the clock did not work - there was a baseball team of little kids and they were so loud on our floor all night that we could not sleep - it was disappointing

Overbook us. Then tried to move us to the crap old hotel next to the freeway with a room not big enough to House our family. Staff was RUDE AND UNCARING. We have stayed at Hyatt’s all over the states and will never again. We ended up staying at the Staybridge Hotel and the place was epic. The rooms as perfect for our entire 6 person family! Staff was helpful and understanding. Would be looking for these in the future.
