Courtyard by Marriott Lansing

The issue with the property is that they told us at 10pm after waiting hours that they didn't have a room for us. We drove in from 6 hours away for our daughter's graduation, arrived at 10pm and walked into chaos. The computers were down, they couldn't make room keys, there was one young person at the desk who had to go to every room with a physical master key to let people in, they had no record of who or what rooms were occupied and after making us stand there for an hour he just stepped back and said "We don't have rooms for any of you, I'm sorry" I felt awful for this poor kid - his manager left him, no-one was available to help him, and there was literally nothing he could do. But I have not heard one word from the hotel, or Marriott about his after calling twice, making sure we are not charged/refunded. That left us searching half the night to try to find somewhere to stay, (myself, wife, and son). THey offered no options, didn't call other properties, they jsut said "sorry, you are on your own". Then....when I tried to call Marriott they told me this location is an independent franchise and there is nothing they can do!!!!! WHat the heck is the point of putting the Marriott name on the property if they can't even respond to "sorry you drove here 6 hours and its late at night but you are out of luck..." Again, the guy at the desk was doing what he could, but the hotel left him in a terrible position and there has been no follow-up.

When we went to check in they did not have the room available that I reserved, needless to say they put us in a smaller room that could only accommodate 3 people and we are a family of 4. It was awful and they still changed me the same price. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The manager on duty basically told me there was nothing he could do for me and one of my kids had to sleep on the floor. Completely unacceptable!! We drove 3 hrs for that!!! We are on a college visit for my twin boys and if my kids decide to go to school in this area, I will never stay at this hotel. They should have discounted my room or put my kids up in another room to accommodate.

First off, I booked at this hotel for my family and another family. Together we had 4 young kids that were really looking forward to swimming. Actually, I filtered my hotel search criteria to specifically include hotels with a swimming pool just for the kids. Nowhere was I ever notified that the pool was closed for maintenance, not even when I called the property to verify my reservation when I only received check in info, for one of the two rooms I booked, the day prior or at check in. We found out when the kids were dressed in their suits and we saw a very algae infested pool. I never would have even considered booking this property knowing there wasn’t a pool available. My other complaint is that we booked a king suite with a “double” pull-out that states the room sleeps 4 “adults.” Not only did we open the pull out sofa to find that it was very much only a twin size bed but the mattress was stained and there was absolutely no bedding in the room. The front desk was very prompt on bringing me new bedding that only had 1 pillow. Both of my booked suites were like this. I even marked 2 adults and 2 children on each booking and we still only had 3 towels and 2 wash cloths. Obviously these rooms were never meant for 4 ppl. The sitting chairs in the room pictures on the website were also nowhere to be found. Overall I am very disappointed in my stay at this location. I have never been so disappointed in a hotel room that I paid this much money for.

Very disappointed the pool was closed and it wasn’t made known. The only reason we booked a room was for are kids to swim.

Nice staff, Starbucks on the premises. Very quiet and quality mattresses had us sleep like babies.

The only thing that I didn’t like about this property was the pool was all slimy at the bottom so I wouldn’t let me child swim in it. It was disappointing because most children enjoy the pool time the most at a hotel. Other then that my stay was great. The staff was amazing and very helpful.

Holiday weekend stay to visit family at a very reasonable rate - low occupancy for 90% of our stay. Starbuck’s facility on site for breakfast options. Everything as advertised. Clean and quiet room on the ground floor. Plenty of ice machines throughout the property. Small travel refrigerator in room, HOT water so be careful with the shower settings. Comfortable bed. Fitness is room with free weight dumbbells and a bench. Business travelers began arriving Tuesday after the holiday. I felt safe walking the area to a movie and shopping.
