Comfort Inn

I’m from Alabama, my daughter, her husband and my 4 grandchildren live in Portland MI. I try to visit at least two times a year. Sometimes I drive, sometimes I fly. I wanted to take my pug with me so I drove this time. It’s a 12 hour drive. I got to the hotel and spoke with the lady at the front desk. Told her I have a reservation and i have my pug with me. She did not see where I had mentioned bringing a dog and said there were no rooms available for pets. I told her I booked online and put in the special notes section, I was bringing a small dog with me and would need a pet friendly room. It was somehow overlooked. I was about to panic due to the fact I had just driven 12 hours and suffer from narcolepsy and was extremely exhausted. I needed to lie down asap. The lady (I do not remember her name) got on the phone with her manager and within 5 minutes, I was heading to my room!! I don’t think it was considered a pet friendly room but it was much appreciated. The room was perfect. I told the lady, I would be visiting with my family the majority of the day and would just be there to shower and sleep at night. I told her my pug was older and very mild mannered and she would be with me the whole time. My stay with the Comfort Inn was perfect!!

We stayed here and reserved a conference room for our family Christmas party. It was an excellent space and the staff was wonderful. We're already planning to book again next year.

SAM! What a wonderful employee! He greeted us with such friendliness! Made us feel welcomed. The other staff we met were nice as well. Family atmosphere, we had our grandkids and they loved the place. This is our second stay here and we will be back!

Upon arrival at our room on the third floor, we were greeted by a strong smell of burning weed. Not cool for families, but at least we couldn't smell it in our room. The second day we found that if we wanted our room cleaned and dirty towels replaced, we had to "request it". Who does this?! The manager seemed a bit snotty when we took her up on her offer to change out the towels. At least we got that. I also found out on the second day that the potheads were staying on the second floor as well. Won't be staying with Comfort Inn any longer.

Front desk guy who checked us in super nice and accommodating. Hotel clean, breakfast great and gal kept it full and stocked. Our family had several rooms and only glitch was one room had animal urine smell which hotel was making right as soon as they were notified. Will def stay next year.

There are many restaurants, shopping facilities and major highways within a stones through. Took in a game at BW's and the kids to an arcade. Rooms were nice. If you have kids with, definitely make use of the king bed with the sofa sleeper. Wished I would have as the room is a 3rd larger.

What a joke! Elevator is down for repairs and pool is closed during open hours for cleaning. Wouldn’t it make sense to clean the pool after check-out? Makes it difficult when you have two young children
