Independence Stay

I didn’t expect much. I have stayed at several different places while visiting UP and my experience was always mediocre at best. Independence exceeded my expectations. I was surprised to find a nice fridge, microwave, and dish ware along with other amenities that make things easier for me as I traveled with my child. Beautiful and worth the price.

This is a nice newer facility. I would prefer a softer bed, but it was fine. I wasn't expecting breakfast, but they did have individually wrapped muffins, granola bars, and coffee in the tiny lobby area. The rooms have a nice small kitchen area, great for an extended stay. Right next to this hotel is a "funplex" kind of place, great for families, and a nice sports bar with great food. Try the steak bites, they are delicious! There is also a new goodwill right next to this hotel if you like that kind of shopping. I would stay here again : ).
