Hampton Inn & Suites Grand Rapids-Airport 28th St

My room flooded and I had to pack up and move to another room which was difficult to do with a baby. The pool was closed, the bathroom in the lobby was closed, the ceiling in the breakfast room was leaking. Not worth what I paid to stay. No discount was offered for the hassle I had to deal with.

The staff was very accommodating. We were there for a family member's heart surgery & requested early check-in, which was graciously granted - with a smile and well wishes. The woman working the breakfast service was very nice and appropriately engaging. This was a great stay.

We had a late check in. Sarah was amazing! She made sure our accommodations met our needs. We were traveling with a family member that needed a handicap accessible restroom and roll in shower. She went above and beyond! Thank you Sarah for taking great care of us!

We liked that the indoor pool stayed open until 11 so we was able to go for a swim every night after we got back to the motel each evening. Made the kids very happy.

Erica at front desk was amazing We had two rooms with family. One room , the bathroom floor had not been cleaned. It was filthy. The other was clean, however, no blankets, sheets, pillows for pullout bed and only one bath towel and two washcloth. The air did not work. We called but no one in maintenance on weekends. Housekeeping never came to clean bathroom. We finally received towels and bedding at 9:30 pm, only because Erica did laundry herself So busy almost nothing at breakfast. Definitely not Hilton quality

For the last six years i have only stayed at Hampton Inn & Suites locations when i travel. This was by far the worst of all of the locations I have stayed at. To start, the staff memeber that checked us in barely spoke to us. The room was very dirty, like visible dirst on things and the employees "cleaning" were literally cleaning the same room acoss from us for several house and clocking the entire hall. A vacuum sat in the same spot in the hall for our entrie stay from check in to check out. The coffee station never seemed to be fully stocked and was always covered in dumped coffee, hot chocolate powder or sugar all over. The doors did not latch on their own when closing, we had to make sure to give it an extra pull to latch it on ALL three room that my family members were in. We arrive to breakfast 45 minutes after it started and although there was pelnty of food and the staff member was more that willing to help with anything we needed (by far the best employee we had contact with) everything was cold or hard, the toaster made the toast taste like copper (we tasted it before and after tasting and it WAS indeed caused by the toaster). I am never one to expect perfection but qwith the rates these hotels charge these days, there were far too many things wrong at this location to not be frustrated.
