Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Charlotte, an IHG Hotel

It was a wonderful place to have a getaway with my great-grandkids. The staff was very kind, the site was clean and those babies had a ball in the pool. They will definitely see us again.

At check in we were told the room wasn’t ready and that it’s be about 5 minutes or so. 40 minutes later found out the duvets had just gone in the wash. It’d be another hour. Seemed to be the pattern for all guests that were there at 3 to check in. Didn’t have enough towels in our double queen room. Was told they were in the wash and would be brought up. None were ever brought. The indoor pool was absolutely freezing so the kids couldn’t enjoy that. Will not book at this location again.

The shower head had green mold on it. Spider and webs in every corner of the bathroom. The staff gave our room number and keys to another family and they walked right in. The housekeeping was super loud, slamming doors. I got bit up by something in the bed! Direct TV so when a storm came we couldn't watch anything. Very disappointing stay for the price.

The property, in general, is old and tired looking. There were weeds growing up in the cracks of the parking lot. My bed was awful—very hard , like they stuck a board under the mattress. My daughter’s bed was much softer, and she liked her bed. The toilet height was super low, like in a child’s bathroom. I could barely use it. There was no plain half & half for the coffee (the girl said they had run out); there as no orange juice at the breakfast bar—I guess they ran out of that also. I used to love Holiday Inn Express motels. This is my second stay at a Holiday Inn Express this year (different cities), and I have to say they have gone downhill. I will avoid them in the future, if possible.

Front desk clerk coughed during our check in and was not wearing a mask. She proceeded to tell us breakfast would be grab and go because the worker was off due to quarantine. Which is why it bothered us the clerk was not wearing a mask. Check in was at 3 pm and we arrived at 3:45 pm and was told our room was not ready and would have to wait. Once we were able to get in to our room - we had been in our room about 15 minutes and we heard a key card swipe and a staff member started to come into our room. She did not knock. My wife did not feel secure in our room as staff could come in at anytime. The first hour there with the staff interaction made us wonder why we chose this motel. Would not stay there again. We have family close to this location and will find a different motel chain for our future visits.

The front desk staff was very nice and made check in easy. We were in town for the State Robotics Championship. The staff was able to accomodate our request for rooms near each other. We really appreciated that. The hotel was filled with robotics teams from around the state, hence tons of kids! It would have been nice if the pool area could have had a larger deck around it and more seating. Several parents had to stand and we all got wet from the kids splashing. Otherwise it was a good hotel and we'll most likely be back.

i would love to stay here again everyone was so help full . and they cared about my stay to be enjoyable i would highly recommend all my friend and family to stay here .loved the breakfast good coffee all around great time

Comfortable, clean, quiet place to stay. Friendly staff with great attitudes. Close to highway and grocery store. Pool and hot tub were very nice and area was extremely clean. Breakfast had nice variety. Would recommend singles and families both to stay in this hotel.
