This was a wonderful place for our family stay. The hotel accommodated us with adjoining rooms. Summercamp is located steps from the Steamship Authority terminal in Oak Bluffs and to a panoply of shops and restaurants. We did rent bikes and cycled down to Edgar town on one of the days-- only took half an hour and the experience was amazing. The patio is beautiful and perfect to watch the pink hues of the sunset suffused the sky and your soul.

4 out of 5 stars

The hotel itself is quiet cute. I’m really not an Oak Bluffs fan, but we needed a place to stay our last two nights on the island (ferry issues this year). The walls are quite thin and you can hear full conversations in the next room as well as above you. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom small. The canteen area in the lobby was nice as well as the kid friendly environment. My daughter met some friends and was able to play with them for hours in the game room. I most likely won’t be staying again as we always rent a house on island, but this year some of our family had to stay extra days yo get our car back off the island. MV is amazing and is my favorite place on earth… just not Oak Bluffs. Too touristy and crowded.

After a long ride I assured my daughter it was a camp like hotel for kids, first activity she tried the connect 4 wall was broken, has no parking, the ac was broken, the backup portable ac was broken, the fridge was broken, the view was the neighbors filthy roof, room was small, not even a water. I never complained, but after driving an hour looking for parking to go back to my smoke smelly room that was a butted the maids closet, where I’d hear them talk and slam door all morning, I finally said something and never heard back, I only complain now to save other parents

The service and staff friendliness were superb, the flexibility to accommodate leaving my car earlier and taking it beyond the check in and out time was very helpful. The proximity to the water is center cannot be beat, and the large porch with plenty of chairs and sofas can suite travelers' various needs (with babies, friend groups, needing space for an online business meeting , etc.). There is a specious area in the lobby for lounging and a separate one for eating, along with a free (convenient!) water dispenser. Although very clean, the outdatedness of the inside does not fit this cool place. My bathroom had an awkwardly skinny sink and no place to put things on except hooks. The furniture in the room included a free standing rack in the hallway with hangers reminding of cheap hotels in Paris (France), sadly. My windows (and back door with a window) were large overlooking the backyard with parking and with a narrow walkway-porch that made me keep the shades down for people not to see me in the room. It undermined the comfort of having the access to the back of the building (cannot call it porch). I would give a 3.5 rating, but that is not an option. P.S. If you have your car with you, it is worth purchasing parking with your stay in this very busy neighborhood. I hope the few issues mentioned will be eventually addressed to modernize the place. It would pay back big time both the travelers and owners.
