My family and I had a good time here. It was a comfortable and clean space to come back to. The breakfast was just right for starting our day. My kids really liked jumping in the pool after a long walk on a trail.

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff. We are a family of four with two teenage boys, and by opting for the roll-away bed, we slept comfortably in the room. The breakfast in the mornings was enjoyable. Each day offered eggs, protein, a waffle maker, yogurt, oatmeal, breads, bagels and english muffins for toasting. The boys enjoyed the pool for a bit one day, and the flowers around the hotel property are beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

This property could be fantastic. It was in a safe, convenient location near an entrance to Acadia and with a Lobster Pound and mini golf around the bend. The grounds could so easily be improved on by more outdoor seating, a few picnic tables and some landscaping. There is ample room. The beds were comfortable and the internet worked. The TV channels were difficult to access, but that may be true everywhere up there. I have a few gripes about our family suite. The childrens' room with two twin beds was what my sons described as a tomb. No windows, no air conditioning and beds wedged into the wall so my taller kids had no room. Also, what is the deal with barn doors? The kids' tomb and the bathroom both had expensive barn doors with gaps so that they were not private. There was a difficult to use hook and latch on the bathroom, but a plain old fashioned door with a lock would have been preferable. I don't like seeing out into the room from the toilet. Oddly we had the same situation in three hotels in Maine and NH.

The rooms are NOT sound proof. There is no stated quiet hours . At 9:30 p.m. a delightfully little child squealed and screamed in happiness nonstop for 2 hours. The Parents seemed uncaring to quiet the child both outside the door and inside the room.
The next night the same thing happened; apparently a 2-day stay.
The parking spot is on a dangerous corner. We almost got clipped. I had to park my car in a tight fit. Handicapped room yes, BUT had to drive around the complex to get breakfast. (Not handy). We had no space to allow my passenger to enter/exit our car - it pinned next to a building wall.
Room was clean, but dark colors, dismal appearance. Bathroom was bright and clean.
Breakfast was "meh." No coffee 2 days in a row, oatmeal was thick like paste, only fresh fruit was an apple.
I have stayed in Bar Harbor for annual visits for nearly a decade. We will be not be using B.Western ever again; will be staying at our usual motel (this trip was an unexpected visit, our usual motel was booked full.) There, breakfast is much better, room is pristine clean and bright. Parking is safer (...less expensive also.)

Had a family vacation to Acadia National Park. We stayed in a room with a King bed and 2 twin beds. My teenaged children found the twin beds and room very comfortable. My wife and I found the Kind bed also very comfortable. The room was well designed and comfortable. In excellent condition, (perhaps newly refurbished?) and very clean. A minor critique would be of the mini fridge, since it had no freezer section for our icepacks. The staff was friendly and professional, and a special recognition of Odette and the housekeeping crew. The pool was very nice, not super warmed, but enough to easily get used to once we were in it. The grounds were well-kept and it was nice to have outdoor seating areas. The location was very convenient- a 5-minute walk to the campgrounds for the Island explorer bus to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor. The breakfast food options were OK; kids love the waffle-making station. The eggs and sausage were adequate. I would suggest hotels (in general) provide 'regular' yogurt, like lowfat plain. This Best Western had a very sugared-sweet parfait yogurt dispenser, and worse (in my opinion) 'light' yogurts with artificial sweeteners that taste terrible and have less protein. I don't know why hotels with free breakfasts don't give a more basic yogurt option. It's a funny to end a hotel review on the topic of yogurt, so instead I'll say that if we were to visit Acadia National Park again, we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Nice stay, rooms were clean but a bit dark, breakfast above US standard, nice pool, location close to park entrance and 10 minutes from Bar Harbor. We were a bit disappointed that we were not allowed to use the fire pit in the backyard which was locked. The reason given was “we have no staff to operate it“. We didn’t ask for anyone to operate it and would have been responsible guests that wanted to have a good time with our kids.

Many of my family booked this hotel because it was in close proximity to where I was hosting a memorial event for my husband. We were all thrilled with the hotel, because it provided breakfast, was clean and recently renovated, had a play area for children, a pool (even though it was a bit chilly to use it), and was only 8 minutes from the town of Bar Harbor.

It was a good in between things we wanted to do in Maine. Staff was very accommodating. Clean and a wonderful breakfast every morning. We didn’t have children with us but there was a playground for them.
