Holiday Inn Express & Suites Baton Rouge East, an IHG Hotel

It was very clean and we had enough room for my family of 7 to sleep. Service was excellent anything we needed it came within minutes of asking. Comfort was good. I would stay again.

Breakfast supplies wasn’t well maintained. Food was cold. Had to hunt for person that was attendant. No milk was made available for children or for cereal without hunting for attendant and then they poured it into open top cups.

My family of 4 arrived at midnight (I called ahead and told them we would be checking in late). Aaron checked us in and told us that, although I had booked 2 queens 2 months ago, there were no more available and we would only have 1 king. My kids are 10 and 14- not toddler size. When I became upset, Aaron told me that I was “just being emotional” and I should be grateful that he even had a room for me. Although we paid $400 for that ONE night (it had already been taken out of my account), we drive 1 1/2 home. Aaron could have handled the situation so much more appropriately, but chose to be a jerk. Will also be making a call to holiday inn. Won’t be back.

The room was clean and spacious. My family reserved a suite and when we questioned the additional TV in the room (That was clear it was in the room previously) the front desk advised we had reserved a "Junior" suite. No where on the reservation did it state we reserved a "Junior" suite so we would not have an additional TV for my 3 teenage boys with an X-box. On multiple occasions myself and my boys went to the front desk to get Towels and we were not issued Towels. We stayed for 6 nights and asked for towels, each time it was a process. I was told to get them from housekeeping on our floor, i was told they would bring to my room, i was given a complete run around to get TOWELS!!! We are trying to save the hotel money in order to not use housekeeping but to get towels was a nightmare. I felt like a criminal every time. The front desk continued to question me and stated multiple times that they "Do Not Have Any". This is unacceptable. Finally Veronica came to my rescue and grabbed TOWELS for me. I spent over $1000 at this hotel and have never been so mad over a simple thing as TOWELS!!!! The young lady at breakfast was wonderful. Very sweet and always made sure we had what we needed. I will not stay at this hotel again and i do not recommend it either. We were woken every morning to vacuuming in the hall at 7:30am. I will say they young gentleman vacuuming was such a hard worker and very nice. Always made a point to say hi or good morning.

Loved the ambiance & historical feel of the property...a natural look w/o looking manicured. Enjoyed the stories of the families' history. The staff was friendly & helpful. While touring, I enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate with real whipped cream..at no charge! The bed was wonderful & the heating & air unit was not noisy. It kept the room evenly comfortable. I would only suggest a full length mirror since there is plenty of room! The breakfast buffet was great & the lovely ladies attending it were gracious & fun. I am looking forward to coming back when I can set up a place to read under the oak tree by the pond. I hope the rates are as affordable then.

Nice people on front desk and try to be helpful. Breakfast was Ok but pancake machine was not working and there was no regular tea available. Some kids broke the gate a week before to the swimming pool and manager had to help me get in. The door back to hotel did not work. The beds in the room were very comfortable and the hotel is close to decent restaurants.
