Home2 Suites by Hilton Louisville Downtown NuLu

We were just staying overnight on our way to the big family vacation, and I can honestly say the accommodations at Home2 Suites was better than our lodging elsewhere. I will definitely book again.

Paying to park at a hotel you already paid to go to is ridiculous. We only stayed one night and the pool was closed. I had several kids staying. We got to breakfast an hour before it was over and all the breakfast was gone.

I asked for early check in and was told to call around 11am and it should be available. I called at 11:30 and was told to check back around 1 or 2. I couldn't. I arrived at 5:30 pm and was told that there still wasn't a clean room due to staffing. They said another half hour and confirmed my number to call when it was ready. We left at 6. At 7:15 still no response so I called the hotel and was told that it was ready. We choose this hotel for the pool. But once we were finally able to get to our room to change and walked down, there was a birthday party for very young children and the pool was already overflowing with children and more running, screaming and throwing footballs. I checked in up front to see what time we might expect the party to end and was told that there wasn't a time but that they had already been there a long time.

People were stomping above us and hitting the walls on both sides of us for 4 days straight. The breakfast was good the first morning but then by the fourth day (Sunday) there was nothing even left out that wasn't still there from the first morning. It seems like nobody wants to be there and it's a dirty building that needs better care. Tub was broken. And they make you request cleaning. Nobody works. It's obviously just to collect a check. Meanwhile me and my family were trying to have a vacation. Fool me once.

Staff was always extremely helpful and nice! With that being said, most of the issues I had concerned the state of the room. In the shower, there was a small elastic wrapped with curly hair around one of the shampoo bottles so it clearly was not looked at or cleaned. Also, after walking around in the hotel room without any slippers, the bottom of my feet became dirty, which means the carpet in the room was dirty. The remote to the TV did not work and the microwave did not work. I called to inform the front desk and we were told someone would come up and look at it.. I just felt it should have been checked prior to us checking in. They are pretty convenient and affordable, just need to work on the cleanliness and preparedness of the room. Also, the walls/floors are a bit thin, I think a family with small children may have been in the floors above us and you could hear them running around the room from 8am to 3am.. and it made it difficult to sleep.

The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. The room was so spacious! The only thing we didn’t like was that almost all the breakfast options had bread (some in our family can’t eat bread) and the many of the hot food items were out or dried up when we came to breakfast in the middle of the breakfast time. They weren’t refilled before we were done. That was our only complaint.

The staff was sincere and welcoming. The hotel was clean and tidy. I chose it to be close to Norton hospital and found it very close to many places like restaurants & shops, everything I needed was within a mile away. I recommend this👍👍👍👍👍 hotel to my family & my friends.

Was very nice staff. Our rooms weren't ready but made effort to prepare 2 rooms next to each other for our family. They also gave us free parking for making us wait. Only other issue we had was not having anyone come fix our TV. Our TV had no signal the entire stay amd no one ever came to fix it. Thankful we all had tablets, phones or iPads for in room entertainment but would have been very bothersome when traveling with 4 kids. Overall we would stay here again.

It was great except for me and grandkids most likely got a contact high from all the pot smoking going on in a room next to us, all night and day 😡

The hotel was easier to get to than I thought it would be. The room was super spacious and the price for it was really reasonable. It had the ability to have an adjoining room for families who want a little more space. The only draw back was having to pay for parking. $10 isn't so bad, but it isn't so great when you expect it to be free and included with your stay like all other hotels.
