21c Museum Hotel Louisville

The hotel is average in terms of service and accommodation. What I did not appreciate was the "artwork" throughout the building. It is not family friendly and, in some cases, just weird. My daughter does not need to see naked men on the walls. I will not be returning.

This is NOT a kid friendly hotel. I looked and looked for a luxury hotel and 21c had excellent reviews. No where did it say not kids friendly. We checked in, went to eat and came back to check out museum. Naked pictures of men is not appropriate for our 12 year old daughter. We immediately checked out and drove 2.5 hours home.

I really wanted to love this hotel, the pictures online looked so fun and what I read about it seemed right up my artistic alley. A couple of things didn’t seem right for a 4 star hotel, no housekeeping was done whatsoever for the two nights we stayed there. I read in their welcome handout that linens and towels would only be changed every third day and that was ok with me, but I thought someone would come in to empty the trash, make the bed and replenished the coffee pods and creamer. No one ever came. Also it was very inconvenient to not have an electrical outlet near or on the bedside table. Plugging my devices in across the room to charge at night is not what I like to do. Now I will get to the issue which gave me the biggest challenge. The art installation behind the front desk consists of four life size completely nude children. I was put off by this and my reaction was to protect their innocence. As a mother of a daughter who was secretly sexually abused as a young girl I could only feel upset and sad that these four child figures were on display for all to gaze upon. Who would want their child displayed like this. I’m not a prud, I am an artist and part of the 60’s revolution. I am not offended by the giant gold nude David displayed in front of the hotel sans fig leaf. I just found these young ones eerily sexualized and it was disturbing.

We have stayed in many types of hotels and 21c is the most unique memorable hotel to date. The combination of 21st century art and a hotel is brilliant. Each time family and friends come to visit us in Louisville a stay at 21c is definate. You are well taken care of during your stay and know you will return to experience it all again,

Great service. Nice modern clean rooms. Comfortable beds and bedding. Would have been nice to have one soft pillow choice. Noisy family next door but not much you can do about that. Loved having the adjacent art museum.

We came here for a family reunion following a wedding. Our sons, who love the best , wanted to scratch this one off their bucket list. Very good service. Our rooms weren't ready so they gave us directions for a great walking tour. The art was incredible!
