The staff was great and the room was clean. I just wasn't use to sleeping in a full size bed especially in a double room and there were 2 adults and a child. I thought the beds were queen size so we were uncomfortable and had a hard time sleeping. Otherwise, it was ok.

We brought the family in for a tour of Buffalo Trace, a local horse farm, and the Kentucky Derby/Oaks. The hotel lobby was beautiful. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and accommodating. A couple of problems with the a/c heat exchanger and TVs but maintenance quickly corrected. The staff was customer oriented, especially Terry on the front desk who assisted with our checkin and our every need! She should be recognized. Within walking distance of good restaurants and entertainment, including the Brown Barrel. A nice stay and helped make our trip enjoyable and memorable.

Upon arriving didn’t know where I was supposed to park. Construction is definitely happening to the hotel and to the parking garage. Pool was closed my daughter asked why and we were told and they offered we go to a different hotel down the way. We did because my child wanted to go swimming all she talked about. I did like that checkout is at 12 gave us time to go the capital and do the morning tour.

The lobby is gorgeous. What was disappointing was all the college kids that live on floors 3,5,6 and 7th. This should be required information to the the person reserving the room. Unfortunately we where on the 7th floor. Although they where very polite, they where noisy and all you could smell is marijuana on the 7th floor. But we where told, there would be a $200 fine if we smoked in the room. The doors that led to the underneath garage where chained and locked closed. Not to mention the abandoned cars in the garage. The parking garage across the street was the party area for the college kids. The staff was aware of the situation and apologized. They said they are trying rectify the problem.

The entire Hotel needs remodeled. The parking is very sketchy/unsafe. There are stains on the carpets, the beds, pillows, blankets, furniture are all worn out. There are full time residents here, college kids using the hotel for dorm rooms. I would not recommend this place. We arrived late after a long drive or we would have left. We checked out this morning and are moving to another hotel even though we will not be reimbursed. I did not sleep much because of the condition of the bed and there was a funky smell in the room.

I’ll start with the room was clean, the front desk woman that checked us in 5/21 was very friendly! The Hotel is old and needs a refresher for sure. The bar/restaurant is permanently closed. The pool was closed. They have a beautiful fountain with plants draped over it I was looking forward to seeing from the pictures I seen on the website, it was not working. The ice machine on the 7th floor that my group of 10 were all on was not working. Got told to go to another floor for ice. We went down to the 6th floor. WOW!!! Disgusting, from what I understand they had college kids staying on that floor due to covid or something. All the linens were pulled out of the rooms and laying on the hallway. Furniture, clothes all in the hallway. I don’t know why they just didn’t have that floor blocked off until It could be cleaned. We were there Fri-Mon and it was never cleaned. Front desk staff on Saturday night— did not even acknowledge us when we said hello. The front desk Sunday morning was also not very nice when we asked why the 6th floor was so awful and why you wouldn’t warn guest to not go to that floor and why. Now the front desk on Monday morning were very sweet! Unfortunately we will not stay here when we come back next year.
