The faucet in the bathtub drips. The one reason we booked here was for the pool but it was closed for repair. I would have booked elsewhere if i had know because we had 2 children with us.

This is a great example of great people making a run down property still a decent experience. Mark at the front desk was helpful, kind, and polite. The folks at breakfast were attentive and helpful. But the pool was closed without notice until we arrived (which travelling with kids was a big deal), the room had silver fish crawling in the sink, the paint was peeling off the wall, only one of two elevators worked, the door to our room didn't fully close and could be pushed open without a key, and the shower head was coming out of the ceiling without a proper fitting around the collar. We will probably look elsewhere the next time we are in town.

The manager checked us into a dirty room at first, dirty breakfast plate sitting on the table right when we opened the door. He fixed it by putting us in the clean room. Then; we find out the hot tub is out of service. Which sucked, shortly after we were crowded by the kids soft ball team who was staying in the hotel. There were about 15 twelve year olds in the pool with no parent supervision. They were doing cannon balls and splashing the whole 3 hours. You would have thought it was a public pool. When asked to watch out for my toddler I was cursed out by the parents.

I would highly recommend this motel. We stayed here with our family and I would say we had the best experience. If I am in Kansas next time without any other thoughts I will stay here. Clean rooms, amazing breakfast and above all best, super friendly staff. We would give the highest rating to this location. Simply the Best.

Hampton Inn Kansas City Merriam. Horrible nightmare! I traveled with my family from Virginia to Kansas, driving for a family member’s college graduation. We parked the car right in front of the hotel (and in front of the cameras) and the catalytic converter was stolen from our car Sunday early morning on Mother’s Day ! We called the police and the front desk told them the cameras were not working that weekend. Management did not do anything about it and had no answer when I asked how was possible that the hotel was completely full that night and my car was the only one affected. We had to add another night to stay until the car was fixed. The room, breakfast and check in was good unfortunately I have to give the lower rating for people to read what happened to me and be aware.

Good stay - hotel was near family & stayed before here. But the frontage road is under construction right now, which while not the hotel's fault, does make it difficult. Nice suite with plenty of room - did not like the location next to the hotel laundry - workers in the hall all day, sometimes made it difficult for family guests with mobility issues to navigate. Good breakfast with good hours.

We had a clean room and the staff was friendly. We stayed on a Saturday night. The front desk said they are typically slow on the weekends doing most of their business during the week. I read some complaints about the RR tracks nearby. We were on the first floor and closest to the tracks. We heard the trains while we were awake, but they never woke us up and I sleep lightly. I wouldn't let that deter you from saying here. There was a hot breakfast, typical of this type hotel. We have family in KC and will stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here en route from central TX to WI for a family wedding. We drove 2,400 round-trip over five days, with only one day at our destination without any driving. The hotel is very conveniently located, right off I-35. The room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable--and I am picky. I LOVE that they clean the duvet cover as well as the sheets for each guest.
