Hilton Garden Inn Overland Park

Beware!!! Upon check in this hotel seems nice. The Libby is big and has a nice snack/drink bar. The front desk attendant was polite. However, there were stains on the carpet in our room. I wish that were the worst part. We woke up to find red bumps all over our 5 month old baby. They were later confirmed to be BED BUG bites!!!! The hotel and Expedia both were very nice and refunded our payment. It cost us much more than just the payment to make sure we didn’t bring them home with us.

We typically stay at a different Overland Park hotel with suite options, but I decided to branch out this time. First of all, every single staff person we encountered was so friendly. The rooms were nice, the pool was great for what our family looks for (plus it had a hot tub, which was an added bonus). We were exhausted after a long day in Kansas City when we checked in and decided to eat dinner at the hotel. They had decent options and both adults and kids were able to find something we would eat. We didn’t do breakfast at the hotel but it looked like an okay spread. Breakfast would be my only complaint, and a very minor complaint. The cost is not included in your stay, which was fine. But it was missing some staples, like eggs. The cost for their full hot breakfast was about the same to go down the street to a breakfast spot where we could order off the menu. That being said, I would definitely stay again.

I’d give it all 5’s except for the guests above us thumped and bumped all night. I think it was a child birthday party. Great room and staff and from now on we’ll get the top floor for noise I think.

I do not write reviews but I do read reviews so I'm being completely honest here. I went to check in to our room that I booked back in June. I looked everywhere online for a room with 2 Queen beds so booked this hotel. At check in, I was informed they didn't have the room I booked and they were totally full. They could give me a king bed with 2 pull out beds for my two teen girls. I asked why my room wasn't available since I booked this room 5 months ago. I was told, they were sold out or maybe a guest extended their stay. I do not feel this is right at all when I booked that room long ago. There wasn't much I could do knowing all the events going on in KC this weekend. So we waited and waited in our dirty room for the cots to be brought in. The carpet was coming up, the toilet had not been cleaned, the night stands were dirty. Not happy! After waiting a long while my family and i decided we were going to leave to continue celebrating my daughters 18th b-day and not stay in a room waiting for the beds. When we get back the beds were there. We finally get to bed around midnight and at 2A.M. the fire alarms go off. HOLY WAKE UP CALL. We scramble out of the hotel to our car to sit and wait for 30 min. Once we see the fire truck coming with no lights/sirens I knew it had to be false alarm. We go back and try to sleep only 10 min. later they go off Again! So No sleep was had that night at all. The room was a cluttered mess with all our stuff and 2 cots. Frustrating

The lobby and hotel overall was very clean, and fun for our family. The bed was sooooo uncomfortable and hard though. Def not worth the price with that kind of bed.

Like the idea of someone waiting on you for breakfast but othere customers were at counter touching the food!!! Ugh..Also over booked to many kids running around screaming!! And it took forever to get hot water ! Also wY over priced !!!It was are Anniversary and we were disappointed to say the least....

This hotel is close to Pairie Village and Leawood where family members live. It is an easy drive to their homes and to many great restaurants.

The hotel is clean, nice, new, and has a good location. The kids enjoyed the pool, as did many other kids! We had a good stay.
