Best Western Plus Butterfield Inn

I have stayed at BWE and loved them.I rented this particular one because they had a pool and hot tub and our grandkids wanted to swim. Neither was in working order. It would have been nice to know that before I paid for a hotel with a pool!!! They offered to cancel but what can you do on a Friday night on a holiday weekend at 8:45 pm. The staff said, We’ll we have a sign on the counter. Thanks a lot! I had to drive 500 miles to read it!!!!

The room appeared clean. However everything else was a disappointment. The hot tub heater was broken, which meant the pool wasn’t heated. Fine, the kids got in the cold pool and we’re done quickly. The weight center in the gym was out of order. The beds and the pillows were not comfortable very lumpy pillows.

We opened up the sofa bed and there was a dirty sheet on the mattress… had a cheezit on the mattress so i know it was a used sheet. Also found several beer bottle caps on floor near the sofa. Our grandchild put it in his mouth. We asked for fresh towels on second day and no one gave us any. The front desk staff was always polite and kind.

Rented a king room with pull out sofa bed for the kids. Had no sheets or pillows for the sofa bed. Said they would bring them to the room but never did.

The staff was un-trained. There was lots of noise in the hallways from children and barking dogs late into the night. The breakfast area was dirty and the staff was un-sanitary. I will never stay in a Best Western Plus Hotel again! The housekeeping staff knocked on the door at 8:30 in the morning. There was trash under the beds from previous guests.

Meet family and they were across the hall. Very accommodating. The only thing i didn't like was that the toilet was very low. Hard for this senior to get off of.

I always stay at the Best Western Butterfield when I'm in Hays Kansas visiting family or conducting business. Clean, large rooms with everything I need. My brother always stays across the street at another hotel and I talked him into trying Best Western-he's not only sold, but he will continue to book there whenever he is in Hays for business or family. Five Stars!

Our stay was very nice. Top notch! Desk clerk was super nice and answered all my questions. Also pointed out the fresher coffee in the breakfast area, it was early evening. Pool and hot tub were great. Might add the Only working one on our trip.from You were the 6th hotel. The breakfast was awesome. The attendant was super attending all spotless, full and friendly. She also rescued my purse and turned it into the front desk. We came back two hours later for it. Thank you thank you thank you. Although I never met housekeeping they were very meticulous. And that is coming from a 34 yearExecutive housekeeper. You get five stars in my book. Thanks for also taking dogs. The are family also👍

This was a real unexpected gem of a hotel. I don't know when this place was built (we had family that lived in Hays in the mid 2000s and I don't recall it being there then) but everything about it was fresh and clean, including our second floor king room. Breakfast buffet was not great but acceptable, and it accounted for the single thing I spotted that might use an upgrade.

We were traveling as a family of 5. We had a great experience.
