Hotel Chauncey Iowa City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The room is super spacious and clean. The location is great. Easy access to highway. Walking distance to downtown and university. Each room has its own kitchenette. It is great for family.

This has to be the jankiest “nice” property I have ever stayed at. The first room(501) we got had no cable hooked into the tv and the door didn’t like to close. I continued to check the door to see if it was closed the whole time we stayed and even though other people were staying there it still did not close. We were moved to room 505 and it was a lot nicer and everything worked. My wife just had a c section and my child is in the NICU so while trying to recover and relax we came back everyday to no towels and no clean room even though the service room sign was on the door. The guy at the front counter did come up very quickly to bring towels and take out our trash when I called to complain. They also keep no extra toilet paper in the room and I had to go steal a roll from the dispenser in the gym. No laundry service at the hotel which was an absolute pain. When I went to check out the kid working at the counter did not ask me how my stay was or anything. We were looking for somewhere that we could stay the whole time our child was in the hospital and this place was not it. We moved out of this hotel and it has been the best decision of our trip. Save yourself the trouble and do not stay here. The property is nice but the staff definitely isn’t making the most of it.
