My family was traveling from Wisconsin, it was an overnight stay before traveling home. We arrived about 7:30 and had promised my granddaughters a swim after a long day on the road. We found the pool filled with little league boys, loud and obnoxious, playing ball, one of which hit my 4 year old granddaughter in the head. My daughter asked the parents if they would have the boys quiet down a bit, they just stared at her. We were hoping to use the spa area, but it was filled with little leagures also. When complaining to the front desk staff, they seemed to care less, attempted some lame apology. One of my daughter's rooms was on the 2nd floor, at 10:30 after listening to a "herd" of 10 boys running and screaming up and down the hall she opened the door and yelled at them to "go to their room." This complaint may be more about the parents of these boys, rather than the hotel itself. The next morning at breakfast we overheard a number of other guests complaing about how noisy and disrupting their stay was because of them. Other than this group, the hotel was clean, service calls for extra linens was met immediately and the breakfast offerings were excellent.

When we checked into our room, the televion and internet did not work. Stopping down at the desk, they gave us a couple suggestions to try, but neither one worked. Returning to the desk, a young lady named Nellie offered to come upstairs and try. At the time there were 5 people in line. We said we would be happy to wait until she was caught up,as she was the only one at the counter. When she did get the chance, she had no better luck than we did. So we asked if a different room was available and she headed downstairs to find out. She did get us into a different room, and everything worked fine. She was friendly and polite through the entire interaction. What a great representative of your staff! When we checked out 2 days later, we had several gift cards to use, and Nellie had told us to mention them before the clerk got started on the checkout. We did and Chandra(?) was very patient going through the extra steps to run them through your system. Another great representation of your staff. We come to Dubuque to visit family, and this is our hotel of choice. It's clean, convenient to everything, and the staff takes care of business as they should. Give those girls a big thank you from us.

We needed a place to stay while Skiing in Debuque. They have a 2 tier pricing system for people who might want to cancel reservations. That was almost the point where I was willing to shop around with my rewards cards from other chains, but this price was still reasonable. Staff were OK. Lobby and pool were nice areas, but filled with people drinking on the weekend. The nighttime front desk clerk had to kick people out of the pool at 8:30 because they were running amock and letting their kids play with the handicapped lifts. Parking ran out due to a big truck when we got back from dinner. Same front desk clerk said we were OK to park in the Hampton rewards member parking.

My 3 kids and I got to the hotel around 6PM, our room was not ready even though check-in is at 3:00. The guy at the front desk couldn't provide me with a time frame of when it would be ready, so we went and ate, came back and the room was still not ready. Finally someone said they would clean our room next. So around 8PM, me and my kids finally got into our room in which the housekeepers informed us that the thermostat was broken and it was really hot in there so call the front desk. I called and after about 30 minutes a maintenance man came, he could not fix it so I asked to just disconnect it. So he did that, and after 9PM we were finally in our room, comfortably. Upon check-in, the guy working the desk did not tell us anything about our stay such as pool hours, breakfast times, check-out times, etc.. Now, I understand things happen, maybe they were short on housekeepers or whatever the case may be, but not one person at this hotel said "sorry for the inconveniences". The night we arrived, they were rude and almost acted like WE were the inconveniences for asking when our room would be ready and everything. Why did I have to pay for that night when my kids couldn't use the pool, we didn't even get into our room until 8-9PM which has NEVER happened to me before. We traveled 1.5 hours away, and a mom with 3 young kids having to wait around in a city we are not familiar with, sucked. However, the breakfast was good and our room was clean. Staff should've been sincere & sorry.
