We had a great stay. My daughter spilled her entire cup of hot chocolate in the lobby by the valet entrance. The gal at the front desk was very kind and helped to comfort my upset and crying child. This happened at checkout on Friday, August 11 around 9:00 AM.

I liked the showers instead of tubs. Tubs are overrated and usually a problem. Unless the tubs are helpful for those with children, they really aren't useful, and having a larger shower instead is much nicer. I really like having a complimentary breakfast option. I don't like a big meal, so paying for the buffet was a bit much. But getting a simple roll, or piece of toast would be nice.

We wanted a hotel that was in downtown Des Moines since we were attending an event. The rate at the Marriott was much better than I expected and I hadn't stated there in years, so we selected it. The rooms were very nice, beds were super comfy, and we had a great view from the 22nd floor. Since it was a weekend, they were pretty empty and my kids were thrilled to have the pool all to themselves. We will be going to Des Moines again next month and will definitely stay there again.
