Hampton Inn & Suites Middlebury

Had reservations and family emergency came up ( a week in advance) and we were told that we didn’t pay the EXTRA FEE. We couldn’t cancel or reschedule our stay. Never will give you any business again. In real life… things DO happen.

We were here for a family girls weekend (grandma/daughters/granddaughters). December 2022 we reserved two queen suites for two nights for August 4th and 5th, 2023. I had requested adjoining rooms and even followed up with a phone call a month ago to verify this. Upon check-in we were told the rooms were not adjoining. Small disappointment but was something we could live with. Then it seemed to be one thing after another for disappointments, cleanliness not so good, smelled musty, one elevator for all the rooms and three floors. Not having a maintenance person on staff and requiring us to come to the front desk to get a plunger and plunge our own toilet. I wouldn't expect that from a low budget motel, let alone a Hampton Inn. There were no other hotels in the area with availability or we would have left after only one night.

Stayed for the night. Was clean and comfortable. Pool was great for the kids.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, they gave us plenty of pillows. We enjoyed the whirlpool after walking all day, relaxed us and eased the sore muscles so we slept like babies. The am breakfast was tasty and plenty to choose from.

We had an impossible journey from Florida. Not sure where to stay on a trip to South Bend due to flight cancelation. We drove into TN/KY and Southern In and could not find a room, so drove onto Hampton at Middlbury. We asked to check in early but it was booked. I explained that I had drive all night and will wait in the parking lot. Also understanding that it will take a while to get a room cleaned. The Clerks seemed intent on not working with us at all. Knowing we had been waiting since early in the morning. I even had offered to pay for another night, despite arriving at 7am. So the info was there for them to understand our situation. They could have asked the cleaning crew at 11 or even noon to clean a specific room on our behalf...but did not do it. We checked in at 330ish becase our room still was not ready. She claimed because we had a specific room reserved. Adding insult to injury, their were no sheets for the pull out couch and after returning late from a concert and having not slept in 39 hours, I crashed on the couch with only the blanket. It was a miserable stay with a horribly unkind staff. My kids heard the staff disparaging us while we waited. It was a miserable experience.

Clean hotel & Staff was friendly. Breakfast was decent especially since it was free. I was there with family including kids so it was nice to have a clean pool to use. Id stay here again if I'm ever in the area.

The pool area.. Hot tub area constantly had young unsupervised children it...making it very uncomfortable for paying adults just to have a short time for relaxation.
