Great hotel. The buildings are very historically well kept but also modern enough amenities inside the room. Good balance between keeping the amazing history while not feeling outdated. The Property and staff, as well as surrounding area was all top notch. Tons of activities for kids and adults. Plus 20 miles of beautiful biking and walking paths around the entire island.

This is an amazing Historic Hotel. The grounds are huge and very interesting with lots of history. The rooms were very cozy and comfortable - the AC worked great. Bathroom was large and very clean. Unfortunately we were only able to stay for about 24 hours and it was raining for most of the first day but it didn't stop us from having smores at the fire pit by the pool and playing card games and checkers in the lobby area. The fireplace was going, lots of large comfortable chairs and tables where couples or families could relax and enjoy the ambiance day or night. My 6 and 7 year old granddaughters loved the hotel too. They enjoyed the sitting areas available throughout the hotel and "the pantry". The only thing that could have been better were food options. We had to leave the resort on Sunday night as nothing was open for dinner except The Pantry for sandwiches etc. The breakfast was expensive and was a buffet which equated to a breakfast at a Fairfield or Hampton but with less options. Coffee was not even included. Dinner is available six nights a week but a "Resort" should always have breakfast, lunch and dinner available that meet the expectations one would have of a full service "resort". That said, I will return again during the week to this lovely, historic hotel.

We enjoyed the property’s charm and history, but had an ant invasion on the porch and roaches in the drawers. Room service only every 3 days. Had to ask for towels on the second day and they left the pile of wet ones on the bathroom floor. One of the staff members was rude. No microwave in the room. Internet on one device only and was not “high-speed.” Had to get in the car and drive to the beach. Not a family friendly place. Expected much more for the money. Wouldn’t recommend. Jekyll Island is a beautiful place, and we will return, but NOT there.

As always, Jekyll Island Club is a unique experience for a beach trip. If you are looking for a relaxing time in the mist of the summer beach crowds, this is it. The kids have access to the beach and bikes and you can stroll, dine or enjoy the history of the island. A relaxing family vacation away from the crowds.

Take a moment back in time and find yourself back in the personable era of the millionnaires in search for a family holiday at the beach. Jekyll Island club takes you back to the time of service, luxury, beautiful surroundings, and away from the tackyness that we are fed at so many ocean resports. Along with relaxing verandahs, a game of croquet and swimming pool and bar, there are many places to eat at this club at very reasonable prices, all set in the historic district of he island. The club has its own beach with help for chairs and umbrellas and food and drinks available. it is very close to the Sea turtle Aquarium and to the Landing to see the dolphins. This can be a very uncommerciallized break, quiet and restful, an experience well worth repeating.

Felt a little overpriced for the quality. Stayed in area before but first time on Jekyll. 2nd day there a/c went out. No one notified anyone. I went to the desk at 10pm and was told the ac has been out all day. Mgmt should have notified guest earlier in the day to give us options to switch hotels for the night. I guess revenue was more important than customer service. Good hotel for older couple not for the kids. Would recommend staying on St Simon over Jekyll.

Our original plans were to stay only 3 days and we had so much fun that we extended our stay another 3 days. The rooms are comfortable and bright and cool. Room service is excellent with delivery and removal of trays in a timely manner. The pool is excellent and the bar/grill area are also excellent. The bartenders at the pool are excellent. They are quick in preparing your food along with any drinks that you may have. The bell hops are kind, courteous and quick with loading all the clothing and suitcases that you brought with you. Having dinner in the grand dining room is an excellent treat. The breakfast buffet is excellent and more than enough to hold anyone all day long. Dinner is exquisite with the accompaniment of the piano player. The wait staff does an excellent job with their knowledge of the menus. Sitting on the veranda or the courtyard late at night having a quiet drink and talking is an exceelent way to end any evening. The Cafe Soltarra is a great place for young families with younger kids. They serve cereal, bagels or yogurt for breakfast. Their lunch menu includes soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, pizza. Ice Cream or Key Lime Pie is the perfect way to end an evening. We having been going to the Jekyll Island Club Hotel for the past 5 years and will continue to go there.
