Holiday Inn Resort Panama City Beach, an IHG Hotel

This was booked for my spouse and I for me to propose. The first 3 mornings we were woken up to drilling above us as they were doing construction on the elevator. What was meant to be a getaway to relax and propose had us returning home to our children feeling as if we barely slept.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! They insist on making you wear wristbands your entire stay and you aren't allowed to have friends hangout on property unless they're registered on the room. They wouldn't allow me to add names to my room after checking in. The security guard at 2am told my female guest she couldn't sit in the lobby with me while she waited for an uber because she wasn't on the room. The bathroom ceiling and initial hallway ceiling entering the rooms are low so i couldn't stand up in either. The bathroom and AC remind me of motel. How can a hotel be ranked 3 stars and not have central ac? Elevators run extremely slow. I would give zero stars if I could. They also changed my friend's room to a king without asking when he had his wife and children with him then tried to charge him an additional cost to switch it back to the room they originally paid for. The front desk staff are incompetent. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Save your money.

Amazing. Perfect for family.

Our 2024 summer vacation was excellent, the hotel is excellent for the family, they always have a happy atmosphere, the drinks, the food, a very accessible store with everything you need inside the hotel, close to many restaurants and activities for adults and children, We loved that the pool closes at 12 am so you can go at any time, everything was wonderful, we will definitely return

WE have been in this Hotel/Resort many times along the years, previous to this one was 2018, so we have a baseline to get an idea on how good it is now respect over the past. It is nice that they have renovated the rooms and general areas, like cafeteria/restaurant, but places like the kids splash park is realy poorly mantained, there are sections of the ploor that are missing in the pool, the atractions many of them with a incredible amount of mold. The big pool was fixed but poorly executed cement sections on the edge of the pool looks nasty, the cascade also has a lot of visible mold. The screen where they project movies for the kiddos you can barely watch something, the image was very dark and completetely out of focus, so I guess a new projector is needed, regarding the movies in previous years you can listen the movie over all the speakers, now that is not possible, so casically you can hear the movie unless you are in front of the screen. Then pricese wise they have done a big bump on the prices, from less than $200 per night that we paid early in the 2010's to $600+ is a 200% at this point is not worth it, even with the addition of the lazy (and boring) river. It is less expensive and way more fun some resort in the Maya Riviera than this option, in our case we took because it was a last minute decision so no many options. Then the personnel as always really good with some exception, but 99% perfect. So basically is an expensive option for what they offer.

Love the hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. The room was clean and the facilities too. A lot of things to do for kids and adults. The beach in front of the hotel was my favorite part, white sand and blue water and all the shower to clean the sand in the entrance helps to keep the pools and inside area clean. Love it! My kids enjoyed every moment there

It was so clean and nice. The employees were pleasant and the resort has so many things to enjoy. Everything was amazing and we were very happy with our stay. The kids loved the lazy river and they have shows and live music every night that you can go down and watch or see from your balcony. This is one of our favorite places to stay for sure.

I stayed for 4 nights just before Memorial Day weekend. I really enjoyed my stay. The food was good albeit a bit pricey, nothing unusual for a resort though. There were several live shows and performances as well as a large pool and 2 smaller pools for kids. Rooms were well appointed and bed was comfortable. Great location with beach access and 2 restaurants and a convenience store on the property. There is a strip mall directly across the street with a Waffle House, a Mexican restaurant, subway sandwich shop, a dive bar, seafood restaurant, ice cream parlor, bowling alley, arcade and skating rink as well as an Enterprise car rental and a place to rent Spider motor vehicles and golf carts.

Great for kids

Overall it was a good experience but the rooms did not get cleaned. They only took out the trash in the bathroom and by the door, and replaced the towels. Of course there was sand in the room from us going to the beach but we didn't make an issue out of it. And I wish I would have known that we had to be on the 1st floor because we selected a room with bunk beds, the view was horrible and they were doing construction right outside the window. As far as food we only had pizza which was good and the chicken tenders on the kids menu were decent as well. I would recommend!
