Sonesta Simply Suites Miami Airport Doral

Starting with the pros: the one bedroom room with full kitchen was a very nice size and perfect for a family. Has a king bed inside a bedroom and a sofa with sofa bed in the living room space. The kitchen is well equipped with plates, cups, bowls, spoons, knives, dish soap, dishwasher and soap. Almost everything you need. I did purchase a sponge from the dollar tree to wash the dishes with. The room was very clean on arrival. Cons: The tv had limited channels, leaving my 7 and 4 year old to watch SpongeBob every night before bed with no other kid options. A smart tv with Netflix would be a nice addition. We stayed 5 nights and never received room service cleaning not even once. I’m not sure if this is the hotels normal or what. I kept the room clean on my own with dollar store Clorox cleaner. I had to request fresh towels throughout the stay at the front desk bc I was told by the cleaning lady, I had to request at the desk not with her. We used Walmart bags as trash bags so we could throw them away easily in the trash can down the hall. There was no ice machine on the property to our knowledge. When asked for the ice machine we were told our freezer in the room will make ice once turned on. It took the total 5-6 days to make a full tray of ice… The pool was extremely crowded with what seemed to be locals so we did not get to use the pool. I would stay again if the price is right, only for the room size and amenities within the room.

The staff at reception was very welcoming. Check in was smooth. The room was very clean. This hotel is family friendly and safe. I was surprised that it still had a shuttle service to near by shopping,since most hotels around Doral don’t, that’s a great plus. I will stay there whenever I am in Miami .

The room was spacious. That was a plus for my family and I. The only thing I did not like was the cleaning staff couldnt speak english.

I read the reviews before booking however I found that the rooms weren’t adequate for families apart from that we enjoyed our stay, the front reception staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Great location. Staff courteous and helpful. Rooms perfect for an extended or family stay. This hotel is worth it.

This was my first experience with Simply Suites. I was very impressed with the size and quality of the rooms. The full size refrigerator was a plus. The hotel was very clean, quiet and very organized with many amenities. The hotel experienced a full power outage on our check out day. I was disappointed that there was not a back up generator. Without elevators it meant that my family had to lift all our luggage down flights of stairs. Overall, I would give the hotel another try in a future trip to Miami.
