The major complaint was the WiFi was unreliable during the day, and even worse at night. Also, the Bistro 245 served excellent food for dinner, and we would have eaten more meals there but the prices were just way too high. There were only about four families eating dinner while we dined ... lots and lots of empty tables. The restaurant has an excellent waterfront location. I think you would fill the tables for every meal, and net a lot more money, if you dropped the prices.

I was extremely disappointed in the room. I booked a standard queen room on a TU night in April. The hotel is not full and there are plenty of rooms . But they put us in a 1st floor handicap accessible room with a connecting door on the first floor 2 doors from the elevator. I know there were much better rooms because when we checked in they inquired on another room but it wasn’t ready . We checked in at 6:00PM.! And I texted our arrival time at noon. Even though I’m only here for 1 night I feel that this is a sub-par accommodation especially for the price that we paid and the fact that the hotel is not full. I don’t feel that this is the kind of customer service that would keep me as a customer or recommending to my family and friends . All in all I have to say that I’m disappointed in overall accommodations.

Amazing views in Historic Key West. We have stayed at a few Opal resorts, and this is just beautiful. The rooms are clean, amenities are nice. The views and grounds are just beautiful. The staff was very nice, and all our needs were met. Would only stay here for another trip to Key West. The kids loved the pool

Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is cost for value: it’s expensive. This resort was wonderful but I think it should cost a little less for what they offer. highlights are that the pool is heated to 86 degrees and there’s a hot tub too. Wonderful food/bar service at the pool. Beware very little sun on the pool in the winter bc it is low and the buildings and trees block. free coffee, juice in lobby but walk outside to get there. also have free sparkling waters and water bottles all over the resort. staff is so friendly, eager to help. location is great for doing touristy activities, walking, museums, sunsets, restaurants, any boat related outings like Fury or Ferry to Dry Tortugas as we did, (both a few blocks to walk.)
downsides: Hopefully anyone who books here knows it’s at the marina and not near a beach. Note that cruise ships dock here so many people will have an obstructed view of the ocean from their room. Save money and get the cheaper pool view like we did! There is nothing easy or simple to eat for breakfast or snack on site, no real convenience store and the area is very tourist oriented so no convenience or grocery nearby except a cvs a few blocks away. There is a store on site but it’s mostly swim, beachwear, souvenirs, a couple drinks and snacks but nothing I would want to grab for a quick breakfast, and there is no breakfast provided. We didn’t want to take our kids out for a large brunch every day and they had nothing easy on site. Otherwise it was wonderful!

Very high priced option, but only positive thing about them is their location, everything around is at walking distance. The rooms are not even comparable to a regular Inn kind of hotel, very cheap bathrooms with unlock-able doors! If your room has got a patio , you may not be able to use it!!
Pool is very small, max depth 5ft , and hot tub is a joke. 3ft warm tub, good for toddlers only. Don’t go by the photos, this place is not worth the price you will pay, stay away!!

Our overall stay at Opal Key Resort was delightful. The location at the cruise port is super convenient to everything. With a cruise ship in port, our ocean front view was completely blocked but the people watching was fun. Without a ship in port, the view was amazing. We captured an awesome photo of early morning lightening through the clouds beyond the marina.
Our slight disappointment was with the pool. The lounge chairs were quite dated, saggy and uncomfortable. The amount of children at the pool was somewhat surprising as well, with no adult space other than the bar. The pool rest rooms were less than clean.
Lucky for us we were busy with the sights and water sports and didn't spend much time at the pool.

We got an upgrade to a really beautiful, very nice and spacious suite. The kids just loved having their own room. The service was outstanding from front desk to pool bar. The hotel is located right at the sea and in walking distance to many restaurants, bars, shops, sights. We would love to come one day.

The room was spacious and well equipped and the building is located within a short walk to the shops and restaurants etc.The facilities at the hotel were excellent as were the staff we came across who were very helpful. I would certainly recommend this resort and my family can't wait to return.

the food in the restaurant was ok, the hostess was not as friendly and did not offer options. The housekeepers were Great! very clean!! the valet parking was ok, on check out my car was left on the street and my family and I had to take our bags and cross the street. for $40 a night for parking I expected much more.
