Comfort Inn & Suites DeLand - near University

Service was courteous and efficient. Always helpful, always friendly. Found it noisy. The on and off of the a/c unit, the neighboring room and their multiple alarms in the morning and the leaking tub faucet. But this was a busy weekend being Memorial Day/Week, the weather was hot and I was traveling with a fussy family member.

Comfortable place for the money on a high volume Daytona weekend. The queen beds were nice and clean. The couch with a fold out futon was great for additional sleeping roominess. Continental breakfast had was hot and included excellent choices such as sausage patties, eggs, omelette, waffles, yogurt, orange juice, apple juice, etc. Shower had plenty of hot water. Heater and A/C worked great because we had a cold front on arrival. My pet peeves were some dog hair stuck on the couch cushions, a stray baby roach and carpenter ant lingering in the bathroom because the shower curtain had a faint odor from dampness, and the bathroom door itself hits the shower curtain rod while making entree and exit a challenge.

It was a noisy hotel over a two night stay. Loud guests and a yelling, running child at two and again at three in the morning ruined both nights of sleep.

I stayed here for a week in July 2022. The location was great to visit Deland and Deltona, and for taking a day trip to Daytona Beach and New Smyrna/Bethune Beach by car. Parking was very easy and the location is easy to find. It's close to hot spots in Deland, groceries, and places to eat. I highly recommend nearby Deland Fish House. The free breakfast was satisfying and included fresh fruit, cereal, bakery items, and daily hot options. The dining area was kept clean. The pool was great! It looked like someone cleared the pool of fallen leaves, etc. every day. The size was large enough for multiple families to enjoy (2-3 groups). The rooms were comfortable and clean. I was alerted at check-in that there is no turnover service for stayovers, so I had to go to the front desk for fresh towels after a few days. Trash was not collected from my room the entire stay (this wasn't an issue for me, but this might be a hassle for others). The only issues that I had were 1) my key cards kept malfunctioning. In the 7 days that I stayed, I had to go to the front desk to fix my cards 6 times. After the 2nd time, I kept the cards in a separate card holder away from my cell phone and other cards, so I don't think the error was on my end. 2) Some towels were threadbare and one even had holes in it. The towels in the pool area were nicer than the room towels. Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend it for the price, location, and pool.
