Very nice hotel with great rooms. Beds were comfortable and the sitting area was nice to have. Very clean and staff was friendly. Nice hot breakfast every morning. Location is perfect with nearby restaurants and a 5 minute walk to the beach.
My only complaint isn’t necessarily on the hotel. As a pet owner and lover of animals, I appreciate a pet friendly hotel. I do wish the hotel could keep a closer monitoring of guests with pets. A couple of rooms over a family brought their dog and continuously left the poor thing alone in the room. The dog barked and barked day and night when the family wasn’t there. There should be a strict policy against leaving animals alone in the room for extended periods of time.
Similarly, the group of baseball players staying the weekend of 6/28 were out of control. In speaking with some staff, apparently the group has stayed there before and caused similar problems with noise and unruly behavior. The hotel needs to weigh the cost of doing business with that group against the comfort of the other guests.
Perhaps there is a way to book guests with pets and large groups together so they don’t disturb other families who prefer peace and quiet?

Great location and clean facilities. The pool was shallow but very clean, and was a decent size - great for kids!

Staff was great but the facility is in need of attention. Our room had a damp odor and no one could address it. The barn style bathroom door would not close properly so it was difficult to manage with a family in the room.

Property was nice and clean. Room was very spacious and beds were very comfortable. Location was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The front desk staff was very accommodating in allowing us an extra hour for late check out without a charge. Pool was nice, but saw quite a bit of hair from others who used the pool before us. Only problem was with some of the guests on our floor who did not respect the quiet hours. They allowed their kids to run down the hall late at night making noise, but this is not a reflection of the hotel. This is due to the parents not raising their kids right. Would definitely stay here again.

The property was nice (standard cleanliness and accommodations) and close to restaurants and the beach. We were also evaluating the area and people for friendliness to minorities and, for the most part, things went well. We didn’t experience overt racial issues or discrimination; just mostly unconscious bias. We stayed in the two Queen bed room with our three kiddos with a pool view. The view wasn’t great, but we plan to return and rent one of the condos. We hope this review helps someone.

My family and I love this hotel and look forward to one or two weekend getaways a year. Part of what I love is breakfast in the morning, it's always very good. I contacted someone through the chat confirming that breakfast was until 11, they sent me a link absolutely confirming it was until 11. When we came downstairs at 10:15, everything was cleaned up. It was an incredibly disappointing ending to an otherwise lovely trip. I did contact them to make sure they update their website so other guests don't have this experience.

The Hyatt staff went out of their way to assist us. My daughter's wedding and reception was supposed to happen on July 11 but, due to Covid 19 restrictions, were were not allowed to have the wedding or reception as planned. My daughter and fiancé still wanted to have their special date, they had just parents, grandparents and the officiants to witness their vows. It was very touching. We went back to the Hyatt for an intimate dinner celebrating their love on the Sunset deck at the Hyatt. Lisa, our planner, made everything perfect for them. The wedding reenactment and reception celebration is booked for next July, 2021. Hopefully, Covid will be contained to allow all the siblings and guests to attend and celebrate their love with them. We know Lisa at the Hyatt will make everything perfect again.
I rented a condo due to my daughter having dietary restrictions so, we could cook. It was roomy and clean. Who knew that Covid was coming and there would be social distancing. This kept our family safe during this special time. Thank you! Diana V.

The hotel was very nice; friendly and courteous staff. The room had a musty/moldy smell as soon as we entered and it seemed to be from the bathroom. There was also a bit of dirt smudged across the ceiling of the room...I would have asked for a different room, but there were four wedding parties there and they were fully booked at the hotel-so we just endured it. Found that the shower doors were constructed in a way that the water leaked out which probably is the reasoning behind the moldy smells in the bathroom.
Breakfast each morning was very good and very friendly staff. Use of pool was also enjoyable for my entire family. We would have stayed an extra day, however the rates seemed to increase from the weekend to the weekday, which was disappointing.
Overall, enjoyable stay. would definitely come back, but to a different room.

The new(ish) Hyatt Place in Dewey Beach was a superb early off-season getaway for our family. The two two-queen rooms (one accessible) were bright, clean, and well maintained, and the housekeeping was consistently flawless. The indoor salt water pool was a nice way to spend our rainy afternoons, which is a 50-50 shot in Delaware in late summer. The complimentary breakfast buffet was delicious, perpetually stocked, and well bussed by our ever-present host. We didn't sample the 24/7 Gallery Menu (which is made to order, and presumably served in your room), but the sandwiches, salads, and desserts sold from the 24/7 Gallery Market adjacent to the front desk were delicious, fresh, and filling. There is no restaurant, per se, but the hotel is next door to the Rusty Rudder, which has had its ups and downs over the years, but is currently in a strong upswing. Internet access was simple, reliable, and fairly snappy in the rooms, and was also available in the public areas. The covered parking was a tad tight; I always found a place, but in one case it was the very last space in the garage, which was a handicapped space. I'm sure they must also have outside spaces that can be used for overflow, but fortunately I didn't have to ask about those. The hotel in on the "wrong" side of the highway (the bay side), which means that the beach is a full block away -- not a hardship if you're even slightly fit. All in all, it was our best hotel stay at the beach in many years.
