Holiday Inn and Suites Grand Junction, an IHG Hotel

Friendly staff, clean, great restaurant, comfortable room. I’ve stayed several times on business but never on a busy weekend. Soccer tournaments for the young kids I guess. The hotel was a bit chaotic and our room was directly over the pool so a little louder than usual but I think the staff was trying to keep the noise level down as much as they could. It’s really about the parents

It’s a nice place to stay, went to breakfast one day they just had one waitress and one cook. The hotel was full as there was baseball teams, soccer teams and possibly rodeo so the restaurant was packed for just one waitress and one cook. The people above us were loud with crying kids. I would typically put someone with younger ones on the bottom level so they wouldn’t be causing noise issues.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. I made the wrong assumption that Holiday Inn stands for a certain amount of quality. It was not cheap and one of the reasons I picked this hotel was the pool. There was a horrible smell/ odor in the whole pool area (this includes the fitness room). It wasn't chlorine - it was a very foul almost sulphur like smell. My kids did not want to go in the pool, partially because it looked green. We went to the reception and she assured my kids the pool is clean and the color is just from the paint. However asked about the smell she said she doesn't know, but was also not surprised. How can you not know the source of the smell but still have that area open? What if it is a health hazard? We did stay at the pool for a little bit, but it was just unbearable and also caused nausea. The room itself was okay, it was actually one of the cleanest rooms we have had on our trip. Mattress and pillows were all very comfortable. Furniture is old and a little banged up. I didn't mind that however as long as things are clean. We paid for breakfast through Expedia, I actually thought this would be a buffet, but it was a sit down restaurant. You then get vouchers for one meal and one drink. There was only one person working the restaurant. She was absolutely awesome - but there is only so much one person can do. Multiple people left because it was taking so long. Overall it was just very dissapointing and I would not stay here again.

We had a long wait for our room because of insufficient cleaning staff. On the positive side, the kids really enjoyed the pool and I the hot tub. There is a good restraunt on site.

We had to wait about 15 minutes with no one coming to front desk (sign was on desk) to check in because desk clerk was attending a room call. Chose this hotel because of kids and the pool was closed down and there was no attempt to repair (chemical imbalance). Paid for breakfast for 6 and the next morning a sign saying they didn't have employee so it was shut down. Manager could have at least had some fruit and rolls down there if service to the customer was even a consideration. I'd expect some refund for services not rendered??

Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend this Holiday Inn. My family was very satisfied. Chris

Very loud . So many kids in hot tub couldn’t enjoy

Overall the rating was good although I requested the quiet side and was placed on the highway side. Asked for quiet floor upper and ended up with floor that had kids running up and down hallways.

Staff was awesome, rooms were in excellent condition. Previous tenant smoked in bathroom and I caught the smell of smoke in the elevator once. People above us had two dogs and a small child and we didn't mind it too much. The only real complaint was that you need to tell the staff at check in whether or not you want the room cleaned and fresh towels during your stay.

Very clean, comfortable rooms. Very kind, happy to help front desk personnel. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub very much. Continental breakfast would be nice but overall a pleasant stay.
