WHAT STAY?! We didn’t get to stay here for our WEDDING NIGHT because they would not accept a legal digital copy of my ID. We were whisked away from the wedding and I left my purse with a family member. Had everything else just not my physical copy of the ID. I have used the MyColorado ID EVERYWHERE. I have bought alcohol with it, and used it for everything here in Colorado. But could not get into a room I reserved because I didn’t have the ID in person?! I am extremely upset. We ended up having to stay at a motel in Manitou on OUR WEDDING NIGHT. Cannot believe this is how you would treat newlyweds on a very special night, let alone anybody else. We were left with no other option late at night and our ride after the wedding already left so we were forced to walk around aimlessly and desperate looking for a place that would work. The female at the counter just gave us an “oh well” look. No “sorry,” or “here’s what we can do for you.” Nothing. We were turned away on a very special late night and I will not forget that. I will post this EVERYWHERE and tell everyone I know to forget even thinking about staying here. Seriously, if you’re looking at this find something better. TERRIBLE service.

It’s a lovely historic property, extremely well kept. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. A lot of restoration work has been completed. Still a little to go but almost done. They have a wonderful front veranda with a fire pit. It’s right across from the fun old town. There is a great arcade for kids across the street. The staff is friendly and wonderful. They have a historic bar with a cozy see through fireplace and plenty of outdoor tables you can sit at and watch the town. Lots to do in the area from the Pikes Peak Cog rail to to top of Pikes Peak to antiquing, lots of historic properties to tour and there is a spa with hot tubs next door to the Hotel. Easy parking with valet $15.00 to go in and out as many times as you want with parking in their parking garage. We will stay there many more times!

The hotel itself is absolutely wonderful and very historical. That being said, of course, it’s probably a constant struggle to keep up with updates and each of the rooms like peeling wallpaper. The hotel staff was wonderful and my dinner was amazing. My issue was that the guest above me may have had small children that were jumping on and off the bed at all hours of the night and early morning. This was just frustrating because I had to work.

My wife loved everything about this place! The staff was amazing, especially Aaron, Matt, Keegan and the valet Eric (hopefully that was the right name). The only complaint is she was told an employee took part in the Halloween costume contest and came in second place ('Baberaham Lincoln'). She and her family members took part and did come in third place (of which they were thrilled), however, if this is true, this was in very poor form, as an employee should have never been part of a contest for patrons/guests of the hotel/bar. Other than that, The moment she was checked in, she made reservations for next year and looks forward to another amazing weekend at the Cliff House!

I would not stay again. I was there for a wedding and had the worst dining experience in my entire life at the Cliff House dining room. The server who sat us was rude to begin with and we as a group decided this isnt the dining experience the bride should have on her wedding night. So we decided to leave to find a more welcoming atmosphere elsewhere and as we were walking out, Gregory the server( i believe thats the servers name) laughed directly in my sisters face. Ridiculous. I have servers in my family. I also have hotel industry employees in my family. I for one work in at a huge Las Vegas Strip property and we do not treat our guests that way ever. We did however find an amazing restaurant with a great staff a few minutes. Away the food was delicious. We agreed if we are ever back in the area we would visit that restaurant again.

Charming historic hotel located in the center of beautiful Manitou Springs. Everything was perfect and thanks to Expedia's VIP program we got a free upgrade to the junior suite :-)
