The Sandman

We asked for wash cloths and they gave us hand towels. For a family of four they gave us 2 sets of bath towels. We watched the bartender at the pool call for pool towels more than once and they never came. The toilet paper roll in our room was hanging off the wall forming a whole in the drywall. The blinds were ineffective in blocking the sun out in the morning. The ceiling in the shower had pink mold. The fire pits ran out of propane and we were told that they didn’t have any to replace them and the maintenance man had already gone home. Really a bummer the service was lacking because the bartender was great, pool and fire pits were fun, and the overall decor is really cute. Hopefully they will improve.

Rooms are beautiful and clean, the pool is heated and swimmable year round ❤️ Perfect for families or a getaway

Adorable motel! Was super comfortable for our family of 5! Enjoyed the pool for a bit in the evening as well.

My family & I stayed there for one night while visiting the area .After checking in , we headed to our room but opened the door to find a couple standing there already . Apparently there was some kinda mixup but after heading back to the reception area , the gentleman who originally checked us in was very helpful and even offered us a partial refund for the inconvenience . That was very kind of him & appreciated after our long drive from the Central Valley . Our room was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay . Breakfast was pretty limited probably because there were so many people booked in that weekend . You get your breakfast and you’ll have to look around outside for a place to sit so maybe go early . Overall I like the decor and the staff are very friendly . Will be back next time to try out the pool and other facilities if ever around the area again in the summer 🙂

I was checked into someone else’s room where 4 teenage boys were getting into bed for the evening. I was super freaked out and they were scared as well since I had been sent to their room and opened the door. I spoke to the receptionist and he kept telling me it was a computer glitch, not his fault or issue for me to be upset about. then they put me in a new room and told me to speak with a manager in the morning for a refund request. I spoke with the manager and he told me he would send a refund if Expedia lets him push it through but that I will likely have to speak with Expedia myself. Overall it was a bad experience and I would not recommend . I am thankful that the kids were okay and that I didn’t walk in on someone dangerous or vice versa. The situation was very frustrating and potentially very dangerous

Nice and clean motel. The staff was nice at the reception and bartender were all friendly and professional. Breakfast was short of a disaster as the item selection was poor at best, there was limited space and the person in charge was in the kitchen not restocking or being helpful at all. Also, when asked to call the front desk and ask for pool towels she replied “no,” but at that point I wasn’t sure if even she spoke English or what she was doing there. The swimming pool was a little crowded filled with noisy kids diving and screaming and the jacuzzi was worse and not a place to relax. The towel rack wasn’t stocked well. Overall, close to being a sweet nice place but need some improvements. Although the area seems safe there is not much around yet the Vietnamese restaurant has excellent and service and really good food. There are also 2-3 restaurants within walking distance that were recommended. I will give The Sandman another chance.

It was very clean, well appointed and kitchen area had everything we needed, even a tea pot. Evan (I think his name is) at front desk very friendly and efficient checked us in. Will definitely stay again when we visit family in Santa Rosa. It looked very inviting but didn't have time to enjoy the gym and pool but will plan to stay longer next time!

Everyone was really nice. Saul the bartender was extremely friendly and just made us feel extremely welcomed! He was very sweet with my children, which is hard to come by nowadays. What a great employee you have. Chris and Monique Lagomarsino

We travel with our fur baby and have always been welcome at the Sandman. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. Excellent and friendly staff. This is where we stay when visiting Santa Rosa area.

My family and I stayed in the "Family Suite" which is one king bed plus a set of bunk beds. The bunk beds are metal, and every time one of our kids moved in their sleep the bunk beds squeaked, waking me and my husband up repeatedly. The bunk beds and the king bed are about three feet apart, so there is no hiding from the squeaking. The room was very clean and comfortable other than the awful night's sleep. The continental breakfast is also pretty sad. Bagels, sugary cereal bars and weak coffee.
