Carlton Hotel

The Carlton Hotel is a very beautiful place to stay and the room was extremely spacious. The front desk ladies that helped us were very pleasant and understanding as we brought an issue to their attention. We got into our room and the AC was not working but we were not advised of that at check in. After we put our things into the room we talked to them and they said they were aware as it went down the day prior to us arriving. We let them know we were going to dinner with family and if not fixed by the time we got back we would have to relocate as we were dripping in sweat just from unpacking our things and tried to freshen up. To our surprise it was up and running by the time we returned and made our stay very pleasant. Thank you Carlton for having great staff the night we checked in but can’t as such with the gentleman at desk when we checked out.

Hotel appearance was very elegant, the desk staff was courteous and pleasant upon our arrival. The room quality was very nice. Except for there were bed bugs in our bed that we caught and provided to the staff as proof of infestation. We ended up having to cut our family visit short and left the hotel at 11:pm and drive home (400 miles) to disinfect our clothing and our selves.

We stayed here with our two kids last weekend and had a great time. The room was large and clean and the hotel itself was charming. We could easily walk to shopping dining and public transportation. We would absolutely stay again!

We stay at this hotel a few times a year when we pick up our grandkids. Although, on a few occasions, we had a few issues, we have let things go due to Covid, and due to some lack of staffing issues and never left a review. Although the hotels under now, new owners, I thought this was unacceptable when I first walked into our room and found that the carpet looked and vacuumed, and the chairs in the room were absolutely disgusting, as well as the benches underneath the bed. I was so disappointed as again, we stay here a few times a year. For the price that you pay for the room, to walk in and see this on cleanliness (understanding that this is an old hotel.), and to know it’s under new ownership , the furniture needs to be replaced immediately. If you cannot get stains out fine, but those pieces of furniture should be removed from any room for $200 and $300 a night. This chair was just not cleaned or even wipe down. The stains are so bad that this chair should have been burned. We had to change rooms and the next room was not much better. It starts to make you think what else has not been cleaned. To the new owners… It’s time to upgrade carpet, and furniture… Especially for your prices. We have been staying here the past few years, and we were highly disappointed this trip. The past few years, and I was highly disappointed this trip. In addition, when we complain to staff, they did not really seem apologetic or to care.
