Fabulous! My second best hotel stay ever! This hotel is a joy. The staff (front desk, concierge, dining, doorman) were thoughtful, attentive, and kind. The beds were comfortable and had high quality sheets. Shower pressure excellent. The outdoor garden and bee area are both stunning. But even better, the Tonga Room in the basement is a blast. The location is perfect with a beautiful park with a kids’ area is a stones through away. The historic Grace church is a two minute walk. Everything about this hotel is perfect and we will be back!

My stay was wonderful except for being unable to reach the front desk and being put on hold and never returning and the Laurel Court Restaurant I was there to celebrate my wedding anniversary we were sat at a table that was sticky and move to another table that was still sticky even after it had been cleaned, it very loud at the bar and the people there was using profanity and it was children there no one ask them to be quiet or spoke to them about there behavior the service was slow I did not recieve me drink until my meals was it was not a very good might

We have stayed at the Fairmont 3 times and I was extremely disappointed with the state of the Laurel Court in terms of service and cleanliness. It took over 20 minutes to even receive water and then our drinks were flavorless. The table was dirty and sticky and we saw how the table was cleaned next to us when other guests left. The placements weren’t even changed or lifted to wipe down the table. Everything seemed to have an extreme up charge which was exorbitant compared to our other stays. We often stay at the Fairmont in Seattle and found it much cleaner than this one which is disappointing to say the least. It had been a family tradition to stay at the fairmont for an evening during the holidays but we are reconsidering for the future based on this past stay.

Once again, the Fairmont shows that it is in a class by itself in terms of the best place to lodge in SF. Very festive lobby, polite and professional staff, and spacious well appointed rooms and amenities. Excellent hotel gym, great food and drink offerings. And all decked out for the holidays in opulent splendor! We come to SF several times a year, and always look forward to our family traditions with the Fairmont as the backdrop for many wonderful memories. We could never imagine staying any place else!

The Fairmont is completely overrated. The lobby feels like a train station with crowds everywhere. It's not a classy hotel, at least not during the holiday season. People were drinking champagne out of bottles in the lobby, and kids were running around screaming. The rooms are sub-par and not what I'd expect of a 5-star hotel. The windows are all single-pane, with the wood and paint cracking everywhere. People say it's a grand old hotel, but to me it's only OLD. The hotel has made sure they can maximize profits by having all of these Christmas festivities that are very disruptive to guests staying at the hotel. Every restaurant and bar is completely packed. The Tonga room - what a joke! It's like a dive bar with all of their drinks pre-mixed. Again, it's all set up to make as much money as possible. We ended up walking to another nice hotel that didn't feel like a frat house. If you want class, choose another grand hotel. I will never stay there again.

Kelsey at the front desk is wonderful! My family and I stay at The Fairmont every year for my birthday and it gets better and better. David at the Cirque Bar is a great addition to the Fairrmont, he is friendly, a hard working father and has a warm presence with a pure heart. I appreciate everyone at my favorite hotel in my hometown of San Francisco. Happy holidays everyone, thank you for making such special moments and memories for all.

The hotel and stay itself was very pleasant. It’s a nice hotel with okay amenities. Housekeeping never showed up unless we asked and even then, all they did was switch out our towels, they did not clean any surfaces or make our beds. At one point we even brought it up to management, nothing was done. Even physically asked a housekeeper to come make the beds, never got done. bouncer at the tonga bar downstairs was very rude because he assumed i was some young kid when in reality i was one of the few people in there probably actually staying at the hotel, and staying all week. Felt very judged for my young age (i’m 21) despite paying to stay at the fairmont like everyone else in there. We were probably the only people under 30 staying there and not in designer clothes and for that reason i think we weren’t treated as well as other guests. They also added an incredible amount of fees adding up to over $500 dollars, with those fees having separate added taxes as well. Such things like a “business assessment fee” and “urban fee”. I completely understand things like this always have fees but when they add another 25% to the final cost, warnings should be more clearly provided.
