The Golden Gate Hotel was perfect for my brother's and my trip to San Francisco. It's very well located, very clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are super small and tight, but comfortable and clean and very charming. The building is really neat and there's an old Victorian elevator. I would stay there again, but be warned that if you're traveling with a family it's probably not the place for you. We were two dudes on a trip to explore the city. We pretty much just slept there.

We loved our stay here! My sister I grew up in the Mission but since our family has moved away we had the unusual task of finding a place to stay in our hometown. The Golden Gate Hotel is clean, comfortable centrally located. Not to mention really charming! I would stay here again in a heartbeat will recommend it to anyone else I know going to San Francisco.

Had a nice stay at the Golden Gate hotel with my kids! It was a great location for walking and busing to all the touristy spots and also safe at night. Every morning, we enjoyed tea/coffee and croissants. The kids also enjoyed hanging out with the hotel cat. The only negative was not having our own bathroom, but it really wasn’t a problem because we spent most of our time out and about. Would definitely stay here again!
