Ocean Beach Hotel

The property exceeded our expectations. Friendly staff. Rooms were neat and clean. Location was excellent: close to the beach, close to restaurants and night life. Will definitely stay here next time we're in Ocean Beach. We brought our dog and took the short walk to Dog beach- less than 10-minutes away. The enclosed courtyard made everyone in the family feel secure both day and night. This is the place to stay if you want a nice place to lay your head at night while enjoying a beach vacation in Ocean Beach. Sunsets are awesome on the upper courtyard balconies.

We had a great time. Only issue is it is located along a flight path so loud airplanes going overhead all day and night. The staff was awesome and accommodating…courtyard was perfect for gathering our large family together

This is a perfect little spot if you don’t mind the noise. It’s a party in the street on weekends and even some weekdays. We heard loud music until around midnight from the beach. The room lacked basic storage for belongings for people 2 and had no bathroom space to store hygiene products aside from towels and hotel shampoo. It also sucked not having a microwave in the room. Other than that the location is unbeatable, the patio seating and views are amazing, and you can’t beat free parking when everything is within walking distance. Housekeeping was amazing, they swept our room daily and gave us fresh clean towels. Thank you! The staff in general are pretty great. We appreciated the convenience of having a washer/dryer on site especially with have kiddos.

Upon arrival our room was ready. There is not a restaurant however you can purchase beer, wine and aspirin in the lobby. The staff at the front desk and the cleaning staff were super nice. I was happy that the room was cleaned daily. Our grandchild age 3 loved the courtyard and the fountain to throw coins in. We discussed that we would stay there again but the sink area in the bathroom is super small. There is not a place to put toiletries.

This place is just so cool! Not a place that I would recommend for families-but-if you’re living the single life -this place is the best-looking forward to going back!

It’s nice location but not good for kids. I feel unsafe with kids. Bed was not so great no bathtub.

This is a motel at best and it is across the street from the beach. So, the description isn’t honest and the pictures are deceiving. Our experience wasn’t the best from the get go. We arrived late in the evening after a 4 hrs drive on a Friday to a closed front desk with no information and no one to answer our calls. 30 minutes later someone came and there were two other people checking in so more wait. I asked the person if this was common for the front desk to be closed and they said that they usually take 30 minutes for lunch!! It was 8:30 pm. The whole property is very old but clearly there were efforts to maintain it. Overall cleanliness was good except for some rubbish left in one of the drawers. There was no elevator and can’t see this clearly noted anywhere in the property description. We booked a room and asked for a baby crib but they gave us a room on the third floor. I explained that this can’t be an option as we have a baby stroller and baby stuff that need to be carried up and down every time we go out and in. The front desk individual gave us a room on the 1sr floor by one of the building entrances with a window that opened literally where the entrance door opens. The bed was 2 feet at best from the window. So, I leave it to you to imagine the levels of noise and privacy. And there was no crib. Parking was free which was a good thing! I would say the best thing about the property was the location.

The view of the beach/ocean was wonderful! Grandkids totally enjoyed the beach every day and the shopping and restaurants that we could walk to. Did not drive our car anywhere for 3 nights!

Nice place for the money. Great view of the ocean and pier. Cannibis smell constant and overwhelming. Parking lot homeless party scene is across the street and nonstop. Not good for kids.

A childhood goal to stay here matched all expectations! Great location, heart of OB, amazing sunset view.
