106 is a terrible room. The hotel didn't seem to be full; there were parking spaces available and not a lot of lights on in the rooms. But somehow we got put in the last room down a long dark alley, opening up onto the parking lot and dumpsters - and our luck? The trash truck arrived at 7am. We had to sign a long list of weirdly specific but common sense rules just to get our keys - and one of them was quiet hours from 9pm to 9am. Yet our location meant that anyone who was staying in the hotel (which included a couple families with children) tumbled down our alley, shouting in front of our room and banging the alley door to their car from about 7am until we gave up and left at 9. The mattress was old and saggy, but aside from the elevated price, noise and alley factor, the motel was fine. Not a - haven - by any stretch, but otherwise fine. A wretched experience. We stay overnight on weekdays quite frequently in SD, and we usually choose the nearby small network of motels owned by PB Surf, which are cheaper and similar in quality. We thought we'd try somewhere new - what a mistake.

I only stayed here b/c my son went to surf camp, and it's super convenient to get to the beach. The room we booked had a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and a stove, which is pretty handy if you're traveling with kids and staying for a few days. There was a pull out couch and a bed in a separate room, which I appreciated. However, as soon as we pulled out the couch, you can tell the bedding hadn't been changed. Otherwise, the bathroom was clean. Overall, the property is super convenient if you want to be close to the beach. In terms of amenities, service, and ambiance, it was ok. There is a pool and spa outdoors, but we didn't use them, so can't speak to the cleanliness.

The closed the lobby early due to short staffing . We had a party and coiner check in until late. While they did leave instructions for after hour check in, we were unable to locate it and slept in the car. We felt a refund should be issued to the lobby closing early. We tried to get an early check-in, just an hour early, so we could avoid any issues, and they would not allow that either. In an economy, where we have many places to choose to spend our money this is not how you should treat customers. We have been going to this hotel for many, many years, and my entire family will not opt out of this choice.

Great location, close to the beach. It ended up raining on and off during our visit, but it was great because in the pockets where it wasn't raining we could just walk on over to the beach for a stroll along the water. Lots of good food in the area, and parking at the hotel wasn't a problem. The only thing we didn't love was that the doors to the (very nice and clean) hotel rooms is a bit thin, so when children are playing in the pool you can hear them in your room. But if you're out and about, that shouldn't be a problem, the pool quieted down by nighttime.

Property was close to my family In La Jolla and it had parking. A longer checkout like 12 noon would of nice. The carpeting needs to be replaced!

Room was clean and we had the extra kitchen feature, which was great. The location is the BEST part. Only complaint is walls are thin and we could hear everything going on outside and next door. Next time I will request an upstairs room, maybe it will be a little quieter? Lots of families in the pool with screaming kids. But we weren’t in our room that much, so it was okay. We will come back bc the location and price cannot be beat. The front desk staff was really great. They were very nice and accommodating.

The hotel room was small for our family of 4 but the location was great. Within walking distance to the beach and many restaurants.
