Inn By The Sea La Jolla

The hotel is a sold 6 out of 10. Clean and comfortable, but pretty economy in details and furnishings. The woman who checked us in was just horrible. We purchased three rooms, one for us and one each for our adult children. We specifically asked that we be given the highest floor available. She told her she had, but then checked in my son and gave him the higher floor. When I laid her told her that was inconsiderate, she just laughed it off and said she never actually checked.

The staff was really nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and cozy. Love the location of the hotel and the closeness to the beach and the shops. The hotel was a good walking distance to the children’s pool. My only complaint is if it is very busy and you’re one of the last to come park it is hard to find an appropriate parking spot.

We loved our stay at the Inn by the Sea and will definitely be back. We had a terrace room which included a long hall way, large double sink bathroom, large bedroom space with 2 queen beds, 2 balconies and a large terrace. We had more than enough space for our family. My boys thought it was the coolest room! Although it is dated, it was very comfortable and clean. When we arrived, we were greeted by the best front desk staff. Juan Jose checked us in and he was the greatest. I let him know that I did see some hair in the shower upon check in and he sent in the cleaning staff right away. They cleaned the whole bathroom again just to be sure it was perfect. I have never had a hotel do that for me. This property is walking distance to everything and we loved the amenities of the pool and gym pass. Our view wasn't great but we still enjoyed sitting on the terrace every morning to eat breakfast.

Beautiful, warm pool available year round. The kids loved the tea and Cocoa available in the guest lounge, and we really enjoyed that everything in the village was in walking distance and we didn't have to move the car at all the entire weekend.

I've stayed many times at Inn by the Sea, and have recommended it to family & friends. The location is unbeatable, the rooms are clean, and the staff is very friendly & helpful. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

My family needed a room due to an emergency surgery. As this wasn't planning we wanted a clean and safe location. This hotel was that and more. And once the staff heard about the reason for the stay went out of their way to give use ideas on meals after being at the hospital all say. This place was nice and the location really peaceful As for the staff...Exceptional!!

We booked it for the pool for our little one. They closed the pool for half our stay for planned maintenance but did not notify guests until arrival. Understand the maintenance needs to be done but some families book just for the pool. Other then that they had great coupons for nearby dining and a nice guest lounge by the pool. Rooms were well sized and came with a mini fridge

What a quaint little town with great shops, art and nature. It’s not touristy. It’s the type of place you want to live. The hotel was a cool family owned joint with a heated swimming pool. It had everything needed including a heated swimming pool, guest lounge with coffee, and a laundry room. It has to compete with some of SoCal’s best hotels on this trip and it measures up.
