Lamplighter Inn & Suites at SDSU

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the property, convenience to a few restaurants & SDSU campus, breakfast in the morning, size of our room (junior suite, I believe). Enjoyed a better than expected dinner right across the street at Dirty Birds sports bar too.

The Lamplighter is convenient for families with kids at SDSU. It is a bit worn, but kept clean. The room above my room was noisy past midnight, so sleep did not come easy.

got a room for a night for my family for graduation, very nice people, rooms are pretty spacious and was quick trip from campus. definitely would come back if in the area!

I paid for 6 people to sleep in a family suite and all I got is 1 bed I drove over 6 hrs to get here

Stefanie and Gilda was very accommodating! I spoke with them before arriving and needed a from from Wednesday until Sunday they kept us on the same room for the two days it was two different reservations! They only had a room available for two nights! They said just keep checking for availability! By Friday we was ready to leave and there was a room available but it was a family suite we took it . We had a different reservation for Sunday because at the time Friday there was no rooms available. When Saturday came they allowed us to stay in the same room!! These ladies gave great service! The hotel and grounds was very beautiful! The Continental breakfast was great ! There was no homeless people around! That was that I was reading a lot of other reviews at other hotels! This stay was great and we would come back! The beds was comfortable!! Very clean and friendly!! We were here for a funeral and they was very nice!

Affordable family suite (separate living room and bedroom w Kitchen), and the free breakfast was a hit with the kids. They got to make their own waffles.

Nice family run place we were told. It's an older property on a busy street. Our room was pretty clean. I don't think they could control the large spider hanging in the shower. I really noticed the dirty grout in between the bathroom floor tiles. So that was a turn off. The front desk staff was so nice, I could have cleaned it for them. The room door didn't close all the way, but we didn't feel unsafe. The grounds were clean. Breakfast was basic boiled eggs, waffle maker and bread stuffs, hot cereal and yogurt with choice of coffee or tea. Lots of free parking at your unit. I am surprised they don't say park head first so as not to send carbon monoxide in your unit. We were on our way out of town and picked this place to extend our trip. We would probably come back here again when in town.

Room slightly small, offered a 2nd floor that was slightly bigger but had little ones ground floor was better! Staff was awesome and extremely nice!! Very helpful with any questions or issues!! Will come back!

Beautiful to look at from the outside. The place was clean and comfortable. This will be my families forever stay in San Diego

I had to take a trip to San Diego unexpectedly for a family emergency, and this place served as a great home away from home. The staff work diligently to make your stay comfortable, and there is a nice ambiance to the property. I swam in the pool every day, and the foliage on property is beautiful. You can walk to restaurants and other amenities nearby and it was convenient to SDSU campus.
