Holiday Inn Express San Diego South - National City, an IHG Hotel

This hotel always gives us great service for me and my family. Its in a great location as well and always meet our needs

Had to check out a day earlier due to the room not being sanitized found bunch of baby roaches in the bathroom along the bedsheets...so disgusted will never come back to this hotel..I am sorry I had to exposed this.

I had read the reviews on this hotel and was a little skeptic because of some of the noise complaints since the hotel is doing room renovations, but, I will admit I was pleasantly surprised. Our check in was quick and painless, and my mom and I were both given rooms on the 2nd floor, with rooms facing the main street. Right away I could tell these rooms had just been renovated. I stayed in a one king room, and the bed was huge, and the room also had a three seater couch, nice! There was a microwave and a small fridge, as well as a personal Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom was clean, with new flooring, and a big walk-in shower, which I was happy not to see a tub/shower combo. And for those who check water pressure like I do, I was very impressed with that too. There is plenty of parking on the upper lot close to the main entrance, as well as in the lower lot of the property. I will say that the noise from the street traffic can be heard, especially large trucks, but, because I am a heavy sleeper this didn't bother me. Also, the hallway can be a bit noisy and you can hear doors around you closing and if people are loud you'll hear that too. Again, heavy sleeper here, so not much of a complaint. This is a hotel I will definitely book again when I'm in the area visiting family this Summer.

We stayed here hoping for the same cleanliness and comfort we have experienced in other Holiday Inn hotel. This one is quite outdated. The carpet does not feel clean to the touch, the bathroom is okay. What is worse is the bed that every time me and my toddler moves is making a squeaking sound. I told the lady at the front desk about it and she said she will note of it. She just get the keys without taking note of what room we are. So how can she probably have it checked. Our room was located at the ground floor and the light from outside comes inside through the gap in the door. My child can't sleep if there is some light. The breakfast was good though.

Carpet tack sticking out in entry/bathroom. Threw a towel over it so kids don’t cut feet. But this place is actually pretty nice. Would return soon.

The hotel oversold rooms and when I showed up at 1:30am I was advised that there were no more rooms available. As such, I was stranded with my two children in the middle of the night, the reception clerk was helpless and offered no solution other than shrugging his shoulders and to call Hotels.com. Note to self- never use Hotels.com because there’s no accountability for either the hotel property or booking engine. They simply toss the ball back and forth.
