Hampton Inn & Suites Ridgecrest

I booked the suite for our Son’s family to visit us. The only complaint I have is the quality of the included breakfast. The coffee was very good but my Son felt that the hot offerings were very poor and not what we would expect from a hotel of your caliber.

I really enjoyed staying at the hotel. Everyone was friendly and the breakfast was great. I will be staying here every time I come to visit my family. The room was great as well.

The stay overall was pretty good. My main complaint on 9-26 was the air conditioning broke down around 11 o’clock at night. Only the fan portion was working. At 11 o’clock to about 1AM it was about 79°. It started to cool to about 75 to 76 around 2 o’clock in the morning. I had to get up early to drive and I couldn’t sleep till around 230 or 3 AM I finally fell asleep. I did tell the front desk when I checked out. My other complaint may not seem big but on 9-23 the breakfast had onions and peppers in both egg portions. They may not be aware not everyone can tolerate onions and peppers including kids for breakfast. My remedy would be to either set the onions aside or make a certain portion of scrambled eggs and whatever without onions off to the side. Another remedy would be have a sign there indicating a request could be made to the cook to have scrambled eggs and the other taco looking eggs without onions and peppers in another pan. The other days were fine.

Great location and friendly staff. Loved the buffet breakfast. Great for kids and large families.

The hotel is one of the newer, nicest places in Ridgecrest so we always stay there. But our experience this trip wasn't that great. When we arrived, the front desk lady gave us a room right next to the elevator. We went back and requested a room not near the elevator and she moved us. We then had to deal with about 2 hours of kids jumping around in the room above us. We complained and were basically told that we should have stuck with our first room. The second night was much better and had no problems. The room is a little small. We've gotten a bigger room in the past - one of their ADA rooms. I'd probably try to request that if they're available upon checkin.

Our family went to 4 states and 7 different hotels this last October (2014) and this hotel was the nicest one we stayed at. The room was huge, clean, and quiet. We got a roll away bed for free that was more comfortable than the bed at our house. The breakfast was good and the staff was amazingly nice and helpful. If you are in the area and need a hotel, you cannot go wrong with this one.

Excellent family hotel. We stopped here on the way to and from the Death Valley National Park (we live in San Diego). So glad that we did that.
