There was something about the refrigerator that smelled terrible, so we decided not to use it. But, other than that, it was great. The service was excellent, easy parking, WiFi, the proximity to shops, restaurants, a couple beaches for kids, everything we needed was walkable. I would recommend a stay here, and we will be back.

Very family friendly. Clean and great buffet breakfast for whole family! Very very close to canary road and aquarium and marina pier. I was 6 months pregnant at time with my 6 year old and we had no trouble waking the short distance to everything and knowing if we needed a break hotel was only a short 5-8 min walk back.

Not so good. The courtyard open motel style made this the noisiest place I ever stayed not to mention the children in the surrounding rooms. I could hear everything and they were running around day and night. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot.

Took a family trip up to Big Sur and Monterey. The hotel was nice. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member when we arrived. Our room was spacious and clean. Wish they would replace the little seats at the foot of the bed with a couple chairs to sit in. We we were able to switch rooms for the second night to a king suite. Which was much more comfortable than the two double beds we had the first night. The staff was as very accommodating. The continental breakfast was good, clean, well stocked. Overall this is great location, close to everything, clean and comfortable for a couple nights in Monterey.

I really liked the location, breakfast and parking at the hotel. We came to the area to see the aquarium and it was walkable with a stroller for 2 young children. The bed situation could have been better. I didn’t anticipate the beds which were doubles being so small. I felt like my back hurt from the bedding, maybe it was too soft for my comfort? And when I asked for any additional types of rooms I was told the property was sold out.

Simple but convenient hotel with nice staff and breakfast. Great for kids. Note, lots of stairs. A bunch of ants invaded our room but that was likely due to heavy rains while we were there

Excellent place to stay when in Monterey. Close to everything. Spacious rooms and free breakfast and parking was excellent. Also, Sergio were wonderful hotel managers as he pointed out where we can go and was just so helpful to us. Thanks Holiday Inn! We highly recommend this hotel. My family and I truly appreciate everything. Free parking, free breakfast, nice and clean hotel rooms and close proximity to the Cannery Row. Thanks a lot!

Needs smart TV’s, so you can watch Netflix, HULU, etc for kids. We stayed on second floor, and even though we took the elevator, you still have to go down a good flight of stairs carrying luggage. The cart can’t go down the stairs. Our truck wouldn’t fit (clearance) in the parking garage. Other than that, it’s clean, breakfast was decent, staff was very helpful. View is really gross from windows on both sides.
