This is just the best hotel in America! Seriously... Yes the decor is tired and it needs a refurb and a paint-job, but it really doesn't matter as the customer service is second to none. The kids smiles widened hearing of all the complementary sweets, ice-cream, soft drinks, popsicles, 24 hour pool, pop-corn and movie nights. I was very happy with the sofa bed and free coffee. It's also in a perfect position in Hollywood for sightseeing. Thanks team. Best customer experience ever!

Stayed here one night for our trip to Universal Studios (only like 10 mins away) the next day. Sadly we didn't check in till 9 pm. The receptionist was ABSOLUTELY the sweetest thing and we were greeted with champagne. Kevin ran and changed it to sparkling cider since we don't drink. Parking is extra (no surprise there). They had a movie playing outside in the pool area and they were serving popcorn. My 11 year old was bummed we didn't get there but was happy with the ice cream machine and free snacks. The room had a sitting area, breakfast area, and a small kitchen. The beds were SUPER comfy. The pull out couch was a pull out couch comfy, if you get my drift :) The only down side was I did trip once because the flooring was a bit uneven. I don't know really how to explain it. It was like the floor panel was separating a bit so it cause the floor to be uneven. I just told my party, careful here and it wasn't a problem after. The AC's were a bit loud for me but considering I have a 19 month old toddler who wakes up at the drop of a dime, the "white noise" was perfect. My husband and I agreed that the next time we go to Universal, we will stay here before and after our trip.

The good: The staff was friendly for the most part, location was great, having access to snacks/ice cream/soda/laundry at no additional cost was great. However, it didn't way out the bad. The bad: The outlet where the heater for the living room where the pull out bed is located had a complete fire hazard. The cord to the heater was completely burned and the outlet where it was plugged in was charred (see pic) I cant imagine what would have happened if I attempted to use this and this was the room my kids were in. I told the staff and all they said was they were sorry. The nights were really cold and even with multiple blankets it was freezing. The refrigerator had a lock on it that wouldn’t work and when I told the staff they said they couldn’t have someone look at it until the following day which is when we were checking out so we couldn’t even utilize it. The people directly across from our room left their door open with the TV blaring and arguing throughout the night and when I brought it up to the staff nothing was done. I booked this place based on the amenities and even with those I would not recommend this place the fact that there was zero concern on the heating issue and fire hazard was enough for me to not go back.

What can I say? The magic castle hotel was a perfect little oasis. In the middle of Hollywood! The staff were simply amazing and helpful at any time of the day or night. It was a great place for families, as well as for couples.

We really enjoyed staying here. The kids loved the free snacks, ice creams and drinks. Breakfast was good too. The room was spacious. Decor a bit old and there was a lot of street noise.

We loved our stay at the magic castle. The kids loved the snacks and the popsicle hotline. The magician at breakfast was wonderful. All the staff were extremely helpful. Room was large and quiet. Hopefully will return one day.

This place was our favorite stay on our trip around the California. The kids were over the moon about the ice cream and soda machine! I loved the cleanliness and kind and caring staff. The hidden gem of Hollywood for families! I would give it 6 stars if I could!

You MUST stay at this hotel if you want to stay in Hollywood especially with a family. It came highly recommended from friends and we booked it immediately without even doing our usual exhaustive research. In doing this, we made the greatest and easiest travel decision we’ve ever made. The personal greeting we received by manager Darren as we checked in was both calming and a wonderful indication of the week we were about to experience. The customer was the very first priority of all staff and they made us feel special, relaxed, cared for, safe, overly provided for and “at home”. The service, and how it was so warmly provided by all staff, was far above and beyond any hotel that we have ever stayed at. Complimentary continental breakfast, and unlimited all day soft / hot drinks, ice cream machine and full size snacks was an amazing feature of this hotel. The location one block from Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame put you within 2 minutes walking distance from the middle of the action. The rooms were spacious, fully equipped and all beds were comfortable. The warmth and care of the staff, the complimentary snacks and drinks and the location make this hotel excellent value for money and a must stay for you in LA and Hollywood.

The staff is super-friendly. All of the perks are real; there is a soda machine and a soft-serve machine and the front desk is happy to hand you candy or snacks whenever you ask. There are free warm pastries every morning. They did our laundry and gave it back to us with a sprig of lavender. The pool is heated so swimming is fun even if the weather isn't very warm. They have a bunch of pool toys for your kids to play with. Our room was huge, and the bed was comfortable. It's an easy stroll down to Hollywood Boulevard from the hotel.
