I picked this hotel based on its location to the Hollywood Bowl, it was a 10-15 minute walk, very convenient. Hotel was nice, staff was friendly but we had one pretty major issue. Our room was directly under the breakfast buffet. Every morning at around 7:30am till around 10am, you could hear chairs sliding on the tile floor above, people talking and walking on the floor, kids jumping up and down. Not how we expected to be awaken on our vacation. I asked if we could get a different room and they apologized and said they were completely booked and could not. They did offer to comp my parking which was $45 a day, so that was a nice gesture. We bought earplugs hoping that would help but was still annoying the next 2 days that we stayed. It only seems to affect a few rooms that are on the 3rd floor in the middle of the building. So ask to avoid those rooms. Other than that, it was a nice hotel and great location, close the bowl and Hollywood Blvd. I would stay there again as long as I could be guaranteed not to get one of the rooms under the buffet.

Fantastic location!
Family suite was good size. A breakfast team and the gents at the parking lot were always very friendly!
Happy with the stay as location and being able to accommodate my family (6) in one room was key!

Holiday Inn is a very reliable chain. This express location was no exception. Above all, it was clean. The free breakfast was a hit with my son. This is a good location to come with family, otherwise I'd stay away. The only disappointing part of my stay was the mattress in our room, it was terribly worn out and needed to be trashed. But the room was clean, the staff was friendly, and we could walk to the walk of fame. On site parking was easy(and expensive). I would stay again with small kids.

During and after our stay, my Partner received lots of bug bites. We are assuming they are bed bug bites … but will need to confirm with a doctor. To add, the elevators weren’t working when we checked in. We were on the 6th floor with 3 kids. We only received a $100 credit for a future booking thru Expedia. Disappointing.

This hotel was perfect in every way with clean spacious rooms and a fabulous free breakfast with friendly staff. This hotel is only a block and a half from Hollywood Boulevard and all the action and a $10-12 Uber ride to Universal Studios.
I would highly highly recommend staying here with your family it was perfect and we will be back. +++++

Super shady spot, razor wire and graffiti around the parking lot but no gate so anyone can walk up to your car, smells like a strong mixture of smoke, incense and people trying to hide the smell of incense with cleaner. We checked out without staying and based on the reaction at the desk that happens often.
Much more the kind of hotel that rents by the hour combined with a “safe place” to shoot drugs than a place to take the family.

For the price in this area our stay was perfect. We were able to walk to Hollywood Walk of fame and had a 7 minute drive to Universal studios. The one thing to note is valet parking was 50$ a day and necessary because of the limited/impossible street parking. Especially when traveling with kids. Otherwise free breakfast spread in the mornings that my kiddo throughly enjoyed and looked forward to.

Didn’t disclose the “self parking surcharge” is the same cost as valet parking ($45/d tax/fees) AND doesn’t state anywhere we MUST surrender our car keys. Asked to speak to the manager 10 times before he finally spoke to me and pointed out the discrepancies on the website. Manager approved a reduced parking rate and allowed us to keep our keys. The mangers were very polite and respectful throughout our stay. However, the valet staff were RUDE and disrespectful. They parked other vehicles in the “no parking” area of the disabled parking, which is not only AGAINST THE LAW, but NEVER attempted to move the vehicle when my spouse tried to exit the vehicle. They disregarded our request to move the vehicle, helping other guests, who arrived AFTER our arrival. The valet staff did not wear a name tag and when asked for his name, he kept pointing to his shirt. He told us his name once we asked to speak with the manager—again. The illegal parking occurred TWICE during our stay. This will be reported accordingly. It’s unfortunate the incidents occurred as we never had issues before. We always experienced the professional hospitality with the Holiday Inn. As an RN who has been working long hours for the past 2 years of the pandemic, I was hoping for a stress-free, relaxing weekend with my family. I would never recommend this property to friends or family. Their rate may be less than others, I recommend calculating the fees before booking. The Hilton next door was cheaper.
