We visited as a family for Spring Break and enjoyed our stay very much. We walked to Crypto Arena for a Basketball game and ate at several of the restaurants that are within walking distance. It is also very convenient to have a grocery store and a shopping mall a few blocks away. This was our 2nd stay and really would't even want to try any other place.

The rooms are old. If you like a boutique-style hotel where the rooms are dated then you'll like this hotel. When we arrived they gave us a room overlooking an air vent and the TV did not work. The maintenance people came to help and they could not fix the problem. The walls also had stains that I was able to wipe off with a towel. The maintenance people ended up getting us another room the people at the main entrance would not help, they said they were full which was obviously not true. I think it was because I booked on Expedia. The 2nd room was better but still not worth $350. The pool closed at 7 PM so do not go with your kids. The lounge and restaurant were super cool. This is where the boutique thing worked. We stayed at the JW Marriott the following week and it was much much better and worth a few extra dollars, especially if you have kids. The room are more modern, the pool was better, it was all better. The only reason I would recommend the Hotel Figueroa is if someone was really into the old hotel thing and was not travelling with kids.

I will begin by saying that the staff at Hotel Figueroa were extremely polite, accommodating, professional and enthusiastic. All staff from the front desk, to the front entrance valets for cabs and arrival/departure guests etc., luggage handlers, housekeepers; and all restaurant staff…they were all top tier, friendly and efficient professionals. I was disappointed by my junior suite. It was tiny and poorly laid out. Also, my view was of the next door building’s wall. Also, surprised by what was lacking. In keeping with COVID I was dumbfounde there was a mask policy but nobody adhered to it and I was often stuck in small quarters such as the elevator or restrooms with unmasked people. Since that was permitted to occur, I was very disappointed that there was no room service “due to COVID”. COVID might have been an issue originally, but it is arbitrary to not enforce masks on the property and claim COVID disallows room service. Other hotels allow it at this stage…and staff such as housekeepers are permitted in Figueroa’s rooms to clean etc….So to say that room service (that is permitted at most other L.A. Hotels at this stage), is not available due to the pandemic, well it is just pure rhetoric and a disservice to the guests who are on holiday I would like to say that the highlights were the wonderful staff, the beautiful main floor layout with art and the bustle of the restaurants/bar and although I couldn’t access the pool since it was so crowded …it looked beautiful.

Really nice public spaces but room was really too small. Closet was an armoire and it was too small. The armoire blocked the window so we couldn't close the blinds at night. There was no place to put my things in the bathroom. Other family members had better bathrooms but all the rooms were very small.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I was traveling alone with a child and the location was perfect to safely walk to and from the convention center for an event we were attending. I highly recommend this hotel.

Staff were lovely. However, we had no idea this hotel is known for being haunted & historical history. Some very weird, unusual things happened to my 3.5 year old son. Would not recommend staying here with kids. Would hate for any other small children have to experience what my son did.
