Hampton Inn & Suites Gilroy

The only critique would be the pool temperature. The weather out was beautiful but even then the pool was too cold my kids were shivering.

I wanted to like this hotel. They have the front doors locked at all times with no public restrooms signs. There is a truck yard across the street and the area gives off unsafe vibes. The staff was very friendly upon check-in. The lobby is immaculate and smelled very clean. The same was not for the room. We went into our room and were impressed with the recently renovated room look however my kid put a tablet on the desk to use the bathroom and there were baby roaches running over it. I immediately collected our belongings and went down to ask for another room on a different floor. The front desk staff was apologetic and gave us another room. The room was also not cleaned very well. There were items on the floor like the room had not been vacuumed thoroughly. We found hair in the restroom luckily I bring my own wipes to clean. Also the bathroom tub was very slippery and my child fell while trying to shower. There was no bath mat so we used a towel to prevent further slipping incidents. I would have left the hotel for another however most in the area had worse reviews. The bed was not comfortable as springs pushed into your side if you're a side sleeper. The positives of this hotel is they do put your safety first even though the area is questionable. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast is hot, delicious and choices abundant. The pool is nice and they provide towels through there were bugs floating around. I would not stay here again.

We chose to stay here because we have stayed at many Hampton Inn and Suites before and always had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, this particular location fell short. The hotel seems very new and the breakfast had a wide variety to choose from but that’s all I can say that’s positive unfortunately. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and I did not sleep at all. The family I was traveling with tossed and turned all night as well. On top of this the AC was really not very functional and probably not much better than a portable fan. The walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything. The location is ok but right next to the train tracks. I would not stay here if you want to sleep.

Clean and very nice hotel. Service by staff was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great and the kids loved that they could make their own waffles.

Elevators were dirty with muddy dog paw marks. Alerted the front desk. They said they will take care of it. Hours later, elevators still dirty. Poor craftsmanships in bathroom. Smell of manure outside of the hotel, which discouraged me and kids from swimming in their outdoor pool. Dirty, stained furniture in the breakfast area.

The pool was dirty. We found so many bugs and spiders. The downstairs bathroom weee not easily accessible for handicapped and children, the doors were locked durning business hours. This is a problem.

Great service. Very convenient, with easy access off and back on to highway. A real value. Will recommend to family and friends.
