Hotel Diamond Chico

Decided to get the junior suite and that was certainly the way to go. From the point that we entered the hotel, we were impressed. The attention to detail from the renovation was very well thought out. The staff are all knowledgeable and considerate with your, comfort in mind. I wasn’t aware of the free breakfast, but decided to look into it and was pleasantly surprised. Nice dining room and the egg chef knew what he was doing. Very large scramble and omelette. FYI. Nothing negative to say at all. I won’t be staying at the Doubletree next time I’m in town.

Overall the hotel is very charming and quaint. The bed was incredibly firm, so we didn't have the best night sleep. I've never slept on a hotel mattress that was so hard. The rooms are pretty small and there isn't a lot of room to walk around or store luggage. Hotel Diamond is pretty much a house that's been turned into a hotel, so just think of the rooms as the size of a bedroom. Other than those two complaints, our stay was fine. It's located in downtown Chico and it's right next to Chico State. We stayed there during the week so it was fairly quiet. But, during the weekend when the Chico State students want to party, I don't know how noisy it gets. It was also nice that there weren't any children running around the hotel. The hotel is charming with a very pretty Victorian design. I would stay here again when traveling to Chico.
